OK, so I am leaving for PA in less than a month and my parents and I are trying to find me a laptop to keep me connected, but I dont have knowledge about computer Mb's and Gb's and stuff. I was wondering what kind of power am I going to need to run LFS, and ventrillo at the same time. The only other things Ill be doing is word for notes at school, and surfing the internet. Maybe explore some other sims, so what is a good type of computer to get.

How much are you looking to spend? What size are you looking for?

Im looking for anything uner 1k. I want a full-size laptop. NOT a mini one.

That article is way out of date. If you look at the URL it says Aug 30th 2004. 4 years is a hell of a long time PC-wise

Had a quick look on the 'egg and found http://www.newegg.com/Product/ ... aspx?Item=N82E16834220340 - exactly on budget and looks well specced enough for LFSing etc.
