being and Ex "first person shooter" Clan player (UrbanTerror on Quake), one of the key things that made that play environment challenging was the depth of choice of Maps that could be played upon... All these where developed by the community and like LFS skins some maps where great and others really bad .. All depending upon the skill of the mapper..
Instead of the developers creating tracks would it be a better investment to create a SDK for track development so that the community can then do tracks ??
A week on and in the FZR now have Blackwood down to 1:12:61 and Westhill (which is a blast and my current favourite circuit) down to 1:42:17 ... started to use F1perfview and Analyse for speed and can see my problems already ... key one is I often turn in TOO late .. getting the hang of tuning some setups ..was amazed the setup I was comfortable with on Blackwood was terrible on Westhill .. great game
1589 miles .. 921 Litres of Fuel :-) I think I have got my 24GBP value
Another thought on binding a Thank You key for the fast guys.. as a "learner" I have "Please Pass Me !! " bound to a key.. When I see a fastlapper approaching I will send them the Please pass when it makes sense for a "clean pass"
I must admit I have noticed a lot of people do say thanks or send a
Analyse for speed web site says "AFS currently includes the track segment files for Blackwood only" .. is there any where to get the track segment fiiles for other tracks ??/
I used to run a European based UrbanTerror CTF team (quake 3 mod) called TeamKFC .. we got served a cease and desist order by KFC in the USA and instructed to stop using all references to KFC and the "logos" and "TradeMarks" we had used on our web site .. They actually spent money and time tracking us down from the URL registration...
Found LFS early last week... registered within a few hours ... had a server running a few days later ... And spent the weekend playing and practicing .. Managed to get a 1min 14.34 on Blackwood in a fz50 gtr today .. well off the record of 1.05.52 but I was pleased .. not bad in only two days of starting me thinks ... or is it
My stats say I have driven 669 Miles and "wasted" 304 Ltrs of Fuel LOL !! Nearly as bad as fuel economy as I get in my Cayenne ..
I have overclocked my machines for years ... Go with Noccys advice .. you dont say what CPU, Mobo, Memory you have .. some makes/models just dont Overclock at all..
Once you tweak anything test that setting for stability .. you may think your oc lifting FSB 10 % is great but then in the midst of a game .."bang...reset ..."
