First I thought this project was dead or something, but I'm happy to read this. I don't mind waiting. We will be playing this for years. If they release too soon we might stop playing it. So they make the right choice.
But i prefer the lines to be at the back of the car.
These two images don't represent 100% what i'm looking for, but I think you get the idea. I like those 3 colours and there should be plenty of skins already made... thanks in advance!
In Live for Speed you can choose to drive around using your mouse instead of a racing wheel.
Other games do not support this option. You have to choose: keyboard or wheel. (And often the keyboard controls just won't do)
So i'm looking for a program that simulates a racing wheel. So if I move the X-axis of my mouse, the game would think I'm turning my wheel. And when I click, the game wouldt think I put my foot on the throttle.
I know that this is possible to program. (There are similar programs for logitech mouses) But I've tried to search using google, without any results
Omg! That is so true! Since I've bought S2 I've never raced anything else than FOX. (I did like 900 laps with the FOX on BL1, on second place its 20 laps with the BF1 )
I have no idea what other car i should choose now. I'm tired of FOX atm
I haven't played for a while. (Atm i'm speccing on RedlineRacing) And i notice i cant get under the 10's anymore. (My best lap is somewhere in the 9's)
Thanks for the advice everyone, i'll check out that replay later.
I'm kinda angry that I wasn't really informed that the data on the old server would be removed.
I don't play a lot on CLC, but i've spent some time on it the last few days.
Actually today i was making lots of laps to get enough money for the XRT. (I needed about 3000€, so I think i made at least 10-15 laps) Then i was informed that my effort was FOR NOTHING, and that the server would be closed in 3 minutes.
It would have been nice if there was something in the server message like: "Don't cruise here anymore, this database will be removed"
Other players on the server were also angry or annoyed.
I do understand that the "guru's" knew about this. they check the forum's on regular basis, they chat with the admins etc...
Players who just play now and then are a bit f*cked (if i'm allowed to say it in such a way )
why i'm moaning right now isn't because I want a apology, but because if something like this happens again in the future I want to be informed. (That's why there is the possibility to put a message in the loading screen)
/edit/
other things that made me anry when i just discovered CLC:
I read on the CLC website
As a newbie I was looking for these "lottery tickets", so i was driving around the track to do "unusual things". Here and there i found an opening in the side where i could drive... (maybe the lottery ticket is there?) But i ended up FINED because it was a restricted area...
It should also be more clearly written on the website and in the "!help" that you must go INSIDE the garagebox, and only of the pits you start in. (logging out in the pits where you can rob the bank/deliver lottery ticket doesnt work)
I have lost LOTS of cars just because I was trying to discover some things myself.
I don't dislike CLC. (I love it actually) but it is VERY hard for newbies to begin. It needs some finetuning.
Losing your car for going in a restriced zone, or disconnecting in a wrong place is way too severe. Many people don't have stable connections, or have issues with their computer!
Another advice: In the new servers you start off with €4000 and a UF1. Maybe it's a good idea to make sure that the UF1 is always in your list. (you can't sell it to prevent abuse)
Now newbies loose their UF1 because they are figurin CLC out and have to beg for money (like I had to do in the very beginning)
EDIT: I don't know how barricade actually works, maybe there are mistakes in my post, just ignore those then!
I consider myself a newbie, but i don't mess up too much. But it has happened i caused a crash with someone. I apologized. But he yelled: "Spacid is Wrecker!!!" And started off a ban vote against me. It took less than 5 seconds to complete the vote. (Lots of people love to press 1 without even knowing what happened)
Luckily the server wasnt Barricaded with your software (or how should i call it? ) If it was, I would have been banned on all servers with your software just because someone called me a wrecker while i didn't do it on purpose.
I don't like the idea that simple USERS can ban. Only server admins should be able to ban.
Now everyone can call everyone a wrecker and start off a ban vote. I'm sure that in 50% of the cases the vote will be completed (if nobody knows the racer), even if the racer isn't a wrecker.
In itself it isn't a problem with Wrecker Barricade, but with LFS itself. Only admins should be able to ban. Racers should only be able to kick.
I found my problem. I compared my config with the config of Dik & Barlin. I had a big mistake! My Toe-in was all wrong. (Can't remember the wrong or right settings)
Now my steering is much more responsive. I prefer using my own config because it has the perfect feeling for me. The Barlin config is great too, but it doesn't feel right for me. (Maybe because it's configured for a wheel or so? )
Also my transmission is a lot smoother, faster in 1-2-3, I like to keep that.
Now if i Do a 6lap race I can get close to my PB 3/4 times. So, with some more practise I will be hitting <1.09 soon! (I hope )
You should be able to find me in any FOX BLGP server. Mosly Redline Racing, sometimes some server (I forgot the name) where you have to do 10 laps with 1 pitstop. (I'll write the name down as soon as i remember)
just did 20 laps with that set. Fastest I got was 1:09.80 wich is a little slower than my personal record. I'll have to do more than 20 laps to 'understand' the setup. but it's usefull, thanks!
I consider myself still a newbie. (Concerning setting up my car & driving it!)
At the moment I have 18(!) BLGP1 setups for the FOX. I started with the Easy to drive setup pack. I downloaded the config from Darko (Dutch guy here on the forum) But I couldnt drive with that config.
In the weeks thereafter I was doing modifications to the easy drive setup. Just copying stuff from other people's config, and see if it works. (At first i just copied the transmission stuff from darko)
After all that 'work' I could get 1:12:00 on BLGP. But afterwards whatever change i made, it would not make me faster. So i moved on to another track. So_sprint1. I received a config from a guy named 'Apajo' (or something like that) And racing went pretty well on So_sprint.
Now I got back to BLGP a week ago. And i just used the SO_Sprint1 config from Apajo, but now I do know what Downforce is, so i increased downforce to the values of the Darko Setup.
All of the sudden i could get 1:10.xx times! It made me a bit sad because all my previous work suddenly became useless.
I even increased my time to 1:09:71 using the Camber settings of a guy named 'Dik'. But now I feel like i'm on the limit. I always get better by accidentely copying the right stuff from the right config.
The only thing right about my config, is that it is a 'unique' config. A selfmade one. But that's not usefull when i don't understand a THING about setting up a car
Why this thread? (Get to the f*cking point man) Does anyone want to take a look at my config, and see if there is anything terribly wrong? Some advices etc... I really want to get a 1:08.xx time on BLGP. (Note: i'm a Mouse driver.)
I attached the setupfile & the replay with my best lap ever (lap4).
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
/edit/
Also, sometimes i play on a server where i have to do 10 laps. In the last3 laps I have lost a LOT of grip. How can i adjust my tyres so they will last a bit longer? 6/7 laps goes fine. But after that (not always, depends how clean i drive) my tyres get too hot i think. (F9 shows bright green insides of the tyres, here and there a red line if my memory serves me well)
I had the same problem with other games in the past. (I have a mx510) You should do a search to "Logigamer" (if that program still exists)
There was an alternative to logigamer, but i forgot the name.
With logigamer you can make your computer believe that Mouse4 or mouse5 is actually "Backspace" or "Pageup" for example. LFS recognizes "PageUp", so eventually it will respond to the Mouse button!
I prefer LFS over any other racing sim, because LFS makes me feel like i'm really driving a car. I'm really afraid to crash! (I could die! )
I'm not a very fast racer, so everytime i'm first when there are some other racers behind my tail i feel my heart beating in my throat. It's an adrenaline rush I've never experienced before in a racing game.
