Very much in the same spirit as my two other "Super Stages" (Blackwood and Westhill); a rally super stage that makes use of the paddock, infield and pit area as well as access roads and part of the main track of the Rockingham circuit.
I wanted to include some of the unique features like the access road tunnels and large infield, while also including some iconic corners from the main track such as the sausage curb chicane and high speed chicane onto the oval.
The paddock/pit area is very tight and low speed, therefore only really suited for nimble/small cars.
Due to changing to from RO1X to RO5X halfway through (to be able to use the pit area without pit speed limit warning) there are a couple of object glitches on what's supposed to be the start/finish straight of RO5, but they are minor and not on the track.
Total length is about 4.6km / 2.6mi. Below is an overview of the route and a demonstration run. I've also attached some random screenshots in no particular order. Color change to yellow is simply there because of a slight overlap. The route in the paddock area where this overlap occurs might not be obvious at first, I recommend doing a slower exploratory run first.
As with my Blackwood Super Stage layout I decided to revamp this one. The spirit is the same (i.e. hybrid rally "Super Stage"), but it has been lengthened quite a bit. It now also includes a large portion of the Karting National track with a custom access road and a short gravel section among other things. All in all total distance is now about 6,7km/4,16mi. I've also tried to improve the signage and generally add more details.
It's still very much a tight and technical layout best suited for small and nimble cars. Personally I've had a lot of fun with some of the rally mods. If you want to do timed laps in hot lap mode simply delete the autocross start position using the editor to start from checkpoint 3 instead.
Demonstration run (without gravel section), 2x speed recommended:
I decided to make two versions; one with the gravel section (GR in the filename) and one without.
This is my first ever layout and I learned the editor along the way so don't expect anything close to perfection
It all started with wanting a simple and long rally "Super Stage" style layout in the Blackwood industrial park, but over time became more of a hybrid. As the curbstones are absolutely brutal for FFB and suspension I decided to add my own track style curbs. This means it's much more forgiving and even if it's mainly intended for road cars, it's also very drivable with nimble race cars like the FBM/FOX (even if the short gravel part is tricky with slicks...). Also makes drifting a lot more feasible.
The layout starts out at the entrance to the industrial park in which there's naturally a lot of 45 degree turns, but also some faster corners and chicanes. There's a U-turn at the end of the park and some of it is used in reverse direction. This leads to the gravel road, which in turn leads into the shipping container area which has some artificial corners using barriers and some AutoX style cone slalom. The last part is in the pit area and the finish is just over a bridge down to the car park again.
EDIT 2024:
With the new object limit I decided to revisit this layout to improve it. First half has some improved curbing and signage (but otherwise mostly the same) while the second half (which I was never very happy with) has been revamped with partly new routing. It's maxed out at 3000 objects and is now about 9.5km/5.9mi in total.
I've attached an overview of the route. The color changes indicates that it loops back and uses some of the layout in reverse.
With mods now being a part of the game I've had a lot of fun with some of the rally mods on this layout. For balls to the walls runs I recommend some sort of tire cooling mod as it's very hard on the tires. First half before the gravel is also decent for street drifting.
Here's a run, recommend watching at 2x speed:

Reason : New version of the layout
I feel I have to make an apology. In the qual session, I had some technical issues resulting in my computer freezing and when it came to life again I was lying on the roof. I watched the replay and I can tell that the number 26 car hit me resulting in destroyed flying lap and damage. I'm am very sorry for this, it was not intentional at all. I was reaching for Shift+S as soon as it unfreeze'd and I saw the track upside down, but it would not recognize the key pressing until several seconds later.
So, I'm very sorry for this incident and want to apologize to car (team) number 26, n1Racing.
That's not anything new But it is beatable, this was probably his first lap ever on this combo lol I don't think I dare challange it, if I do, there is a small chance he will go into serious mode and then bye bye beatable time, atleast for anything human.
New time: 2.20.77 (with really bad first split) Hotlapping is a lot of fun. I've done a 42.63 first split, 1.25.78 second and 1.49:52 last, so I should be able to cut it with atleast 0.5 second more.
Yeah, I've been trying the FXO a little bit and it seems to be a good start. The UF1 is a little to slow for my taste The XFG is fine though, maby I should keep racing with it and learn the new tracks that way.
I've been racing the DEMO for a while and I really got hooked. Did a LOT of laps on Blackwood with the GTI and my PB was around 1.33.8x. Really fun and I really felt that I could keep up with most of the racers
So I bought a new wheel (Logitech MOMO) and purchased a S2 license... and it's really boring? Almost no servers at all? What are you supposed to do? Join teams and get acces to private servers? What am I missing?
Also, I bet this has been repeated millions of times, but I can't find any good information about it: What is the "best" way to start learning the new cars and tracks? What cars are the most popular and what tracks? I appriciate any advice, thanks.
I'm really that kind of person who just uses one car and race one track until near perfection (and then keep racing that combo because I can't race anything else lol illepall). I want to change that Please give me some advice as how to start racing serious.
Seems to be a great community and I hope to get more into it
