Just unzip everything in the zip-file to a folder LFSLapper in your LFS-folder... Then follow instructions in the text-file in \\LFSLapper\Doc\Readme.txt, not that hard to do...

Good luck

Damn Gai-Luron,

just checked that Lapper 5 and I must say : you never seems to amaze! Great job! It will be very useful, certainly now I know how to compile, build & rebuild..

En tout cas, j'espère que tu vas bien et que t'auras aussi encore un peu de temps pour ton instrument (désolé, j'suis oublié le nom..)..

A+

LFS Lapper x64 Edition! ;)

For all those of you running x64-servers, this might be of interest!

After a few hours of online testing with Gai-Luron "the Great", we (ore better : he!) managed to come up with a working version of LFSLapper 4.1 for servers running W2K3 x64!

This was kind of a weird problem, as Lapper seemed to work perfectly on an x64-server... no real errors were reported, not by Lapper, not by the LFS-Dedi. But once connected to the server and leaving the pits, there was no lapper to be found. All commands (i.e. !top, !help, !ver,..) resulted into... nothing at all.

After some time however, Gai-Luron managed to recompile LFSLapper.exe and yes indeed, a working x64-version was born.

So, LFSLapper_x64 is attached to this post (LFSLapper_x64.rar) for those running x64-servers. Just replace the LFSLapper.exe in the ./bin-folder to get it working.

yes, indeed.. we get that after a few mins...
I don't really know why... got MSN? So we can do some tests?

yes, indeed, we 're on the track!
None of the commands proceeded by "!" work... not "!help", or "!ver", or whatever... there is also never a welcome message either (allthough active in lfslapper.cfg)

I was wondering, could it maybe have something to do with character-sets? Maybe the !-sign is not interpreted correctly on the belgian keyboard of our server?

Gai-Luron, it doesn't even react on the '!ver'-command...
none of the commands preceeded by '!' seem to work actually.
It's just like entering plain text...

Hey Gai-Luron,

I can't get lapper 4 to work!
Could it be that it is not supported on W2K3 64x servers?

I've tried almost anything to get it to work, and strangest thing is : it seems like it's working, but users cannot see it when logging on.

If we press "!top" for instance, it doesn't do anything at all...
I've attached a screenshot for you to see.

My only guess is, that is won't work on 64-bit server..?

Dizman, tried your advise too and installed XP-drivers for the souncard.. but same shit, i'm afraid... i still have the cracks in the sound, almost instantly after logging on to a multi-pleasure game...

Guess I'm gonna have to run LFS on my old XP-machine... ah well, it's not the first time I'm experiencing trouble with that goddamn vista-crap..

Anyway, tnx all for the advise and tips.

Hey Devil, tnx for the reply.. I downloaded the drivers you mentioned but when i tried installing them, it says no supported product was found.
So, I extracted the archive to see if i could install them manually, but also that didn't work...

Still, tnx for the tip, it was worth the shot...

XCNuse, tnx for the reply and in reply to your question :

tnx Android, but halas.. been there, done that..
I've tried almost anything I read here on the forum (hell, I almost feel like i live here!), including the thread about the vista-sound problem, but to no advance. Sound is still horribly filled with cracks that 'll blow ET's mind.. especially when nearing other cars in "multi-pleasure"..

As I already gotten me a new soundcard, speakers, video-card and such, I thought I'd install an old machine with XP and guess what : no problem there, even when that machine runs my "older" hardware.

Quite amazing actually, 2 weeks back everything was running so nice on patch W... pit spotter online, running our own server with Lapper active, lotsa plans and shit.. and now 2 weeks later : crackling sound, no pit spotter, can't get lapper (4.0!) running on our server (allthough it says its working, no one gets to see it, possibly 'cause our server runs W2K3 64x), no one wants to race anymore it seems and all prefer a game of Forza 2 on the Xbox 360... all very disappointing ofcourse.

Such a shame, 'cause I really enjoyed LFS but now it's getting a real pain and I'm losing my appetite for it myself...

Well yeah, it's not really car-related as it's there from the start...
LFS_X & Vista -> Sound problem :(

Since I upgraded to LFS_X, I'm experiencing very annoying sound cracks when racing online...

I know the problem was fixed in patch V and indeed i never had any probs running LFS_V on my Vista Ultimate.

I tried everything from updating drivers for my SB XFi sound card, latest Nvidia-drivers for the graphics (8600GS), experimented even with different speakers, headsets and setting LFS to low details incl. the sound lag slider, but the sound keeps cracking in multiplayer-games... it really drives me nuts!

How can i get this fixed? Anyone have any idea at all?
What settings should i change to get rid of these sound cracks?
Please let me know..
