I accedently left my cell in trousers to wash this winter.... It died.. Project went with it... Now I got older cell from my brother which will not suport it... I hope i will lay my hand on something newer but till then.. project is frozen... Very sorry

Is there any outgague projects in java? I don't know how to receive packets from lfs to my desktop app...

Here is about my project:
I am making my cellphone to show current speed ( or any other data), and i have realtime communication between computer and cellphone. Only thing that is needed is from lfs. Can someone direct me to some java projects or tell me how to establish communication between VB and java ( that could be possible solution), or even beter, put the code for recieving UDP packets from java... Thnx

If this project succseed i will put final project here ( or on a website) incluing opensource so everyyone could use it or mod it.

It works on every cellphone with bloetooth, so pretty much everyone could have speedometer\tachometer\whatevermeter. HELP!

I totally agree with gogfeld. I like LRF, especially RAC which is too slow in comparison with other LRF cars, so nobody never drives it, so ti is pointless for me to drive it and be slowest on track... Now on topic... i have played LFS for few years and I got several times into this phase. When I would get bored to lfs i would make a new hardware. First i made a shifter ( long time a go, much before g25 got on market), then clutch pedal, then shiftlight, then LED tachometer, then analog tachometer... and so on... last time i tried to build digital speedometer, but failed... The point is, when i would make something i would be very interested in playing again because of new stuff... You don't need to make something, it is enough to have something new, just to make you want to drive, like new wheel or cockpit. When i got my g25 and rinoseat I spent time in driving a lot. You should try it.

And yeah, you could try not playing for a while and then join some of most crowded servers and you will probably get back to driving.

I am not changing my graphic card till this one dies totaly.. This happened only once so I guess i shouldn't have too much problems.. at least for some time... Card is nvidia GeForce FX5600... i know it is old, but I play only LFS which has the best program, graphics, phisics,network, etc/ hardware requirements rate... so there is no need for stronger pc. tnx for your help again...

Hello! I must say that i haven't look for topics with same problem.. so if this have been pointed out before, I apologize and moderators may delete this...

I am playing on test patch 21, I know there is 22 so this may have already been fixed. Today i went online to race... Few seconds after i left garage in pits, all of a sudden, textures gone crazy!! Then race restarted and i tried to drive, but then i saw that there are some weird 3d objects on track too! Most of them like random lines and planes, ad some of them looked like bridges from other tracks... ( I was on blackwood) I took a screenshot before race restart ( I have actually tried to race with that condition). After i crashed ( I wonder why ) I ALT-Tabed to image prog. and saved the picture ( i planned to go to objects afterwards...) But when i alt tabed back to game everything went back to normal.

I only have picture with messed textures but not objects.. but trust me, they were there.

when i look at it better .. you can see objets on far right.. those lines shouldn't be there.. i forgot to mansion that some 2d stuff like virtual start lights and list of drivers etc went transparent... some sick bug!!

no i saw both I was confused with the other one because i saw just one car... i saw later that i could chose.

I don't think you should delete this one because you give more freedom in this... I don't know what have you done with materials. For example glass is very strange, and it looks like it's transparency and reflection aren't controlled with standard ray transparency and reflection... and i cant change my background from black. New lamps don't affect objects as they supposed to be.

This new one is cool because you can render faster, but i cant change back some settings. It is great for those who hadn't use blender before. I did... I am still newbie but i know basics like materials, modeling and animation...

There is something i would like to know, and I asked about it in this thread on page4. I would like to make difused reflections. When i turn on reflections i get mirror effect... but I would like to get effect of wet road.. even dry road gives reflections but very blury. How can i accomplish that in blender?

Hi! It looks like package with all the cars converted into .blend files host is down :S Could somone put ot onother or same host again?

Those cars in package.. do they have their own textures like tyre patterns, CROMO seat and wheel etc. I managed to import a car with the script quite long a go... I could do it again, but I never had all textures on the car.. just the skin. I was hoping that this file could help me.

If it doesn't have textures it would be gepfull anyway because I dont need to mirror te car etc ( It is upside down or so when i import it) Thnx!

I think that you have to buy PIC micro controller, and that you will have to buy programmer, and write a program in micro c, or similar program... coding is not hard. I had a chance to see micro c and saw that commands are very similar to c...

Hello! Can somebody help me? I am about to connect shiftlight on a COM port... I had it connected to LPT but now i want to attach something else on lpt- tachometer... I dont know which pins are for input, and which are for output on a COM port. In short i don't know anything about com port so link on schematichs would be usefull... I just hope that programming in vb for COMport i similar to lpt programming... Thnx!

You need to change theese:


filePath = "your path"
fileToLoad = "your name"
#fileToLoad = "name of a car(check in cmx viewer folder"

outputDir = "your path"
outputFileName = "name of export"

Then you load it to blender and press ALT+P. Then happens nothing in blender but you have in outputDir(your path set in script) a file.obj ( You have set the name before in script)

For example:
outputDir = "C:\LFS\"
outputFileName = "car"

Then you will find the object to import in blender on this path : C:\LFS\car.obj

I am working in vb but it helped! I didn't realize that it was flags. I just wrote the code:
Label1.Caption = Format(Packet.Flags(0))
And that's it!

I finished my real tachometer. well you just need few resistors that you conect with lpt and then output rpm on lpt. i will make spedoometer too, but i am thinking of digital speedo...

But still i didn't finshed 100% of tachometer. I still need to make shiftlight to work. But I see that it isn't packet. So i don't know how to get value (0 or 1). Please help. I will post movie later because I didn't buy voltmeter yet. (I tested it on digital multymeter)

I used instructions but when I start python script Blender gives me this :" Python script error, check console" And it marks me red this line in python

"f = open(filePath+"cmx/"+fileToLoad+".cmx","rb")"

Help me please.

Oh even better. I thought nobody ever heard about blender! I know to work in blender better than in MAX. I used Max because i didn't find a way to import cmx files in blender, or finished models to download. Can I get link, if there is any, which will explain me how t import lfs carin blender?

If not, I will try with raytrace and metal ray.

I tried import those files from 3DS but it didn't work, maybe it is not compatibile with Max9.

Can it be rendered in MAX9 or I must have 7? In instruction of instaling Brazil says that it must be extracted in 3ds max / VIZ plug-in path. There is no such folder in MAX9 (VIZ). I appriciate any kind of help.

Hello. I saw few examples of analouge real gauges... I have an idea of building one of my own... on the first page of this topic is vb6 program which should copy current speed and rpm of a car in two labels. I have changed the cnfg file and set up port on 55, and outgauge mode on 1, but still i didn't get it to work... can enybody help me? If I get it to work i know how to move on... Tell me how to get it to work or please tell me where I can find program writen in c or visual basic. I just need speed and rpm in real time. Thanx!
