What I'd like to do, is get one 22" Wide , and two 19" Samsung monitors, they are almost equal height.... then I'd tear the casing off them all,
and build a custom bracket to mount them in. By doing this I could space the LCD's very tight together, and create a curved screen. I think that would have looked nifty! it might even be worth ruining monitors for roughly $1100.
It's bloody tempting it is !!

I want something nasty and dangerous !
Some japanese Touge style tracks, and some crazy mountain roads.
Something like Pikes Peak, where we can run the nasty cars!! Even pikes peak reversed would kick ass!

It's hard to say what would be a really good addition though,
there are so many different people with different ideas of what is fun.
Myself I can't stand the F1 style tracks with wide roads and large corners,
while I know many others do.

I think a good idea is to segment the game off a bit, into race, drift, drag, cop&robbers etc... I think this should be implemented into the multiplayer server list as filters.

Then develop speciffic tracks and maps for each segment.
Maybe a city map for cop&robbers. Race and drift go pretty much hand in hand track wise, but I want a bunch of twisty, narrow tracks for drifting purposes. Several airfield layouts for drag, and creating own layouts, as well as purpose built drag stadiums. We would need some good WRC rally courses for the ppl who like off road. Snow would be kewl, for use with studded tires.

For detail on the tracks themselves, I'd like a tad more realism, like wet spots,
uneven surfaces, varying asphalt quality stuff like that! Like another person said, even places where the course has "rubbered in".

I guess we'll just have to wait for a track editor then ...

I second that !

Ever since I tried the by my opinion, lesser game Toca Race Driver 3,
I've wanted to practice the entire Nurburgring. I live in norway,
so it's pretty easy for me to take a car there !

Like iSkewl said, I'd murder for this !!
as well as donate money if it turns out there is a lisence issue at hand.

A good friend of mine is currently working on an Opel Kadett.
He's stuck a Calibra engine in there and tuned it to approx 400bhp.
Now comes the "impossible" task of driving a 400hp car with
front wheel drive ... LOL ...

Anyway .. my request is that we get an option to enter our cars data
into the game, as to simulate the cars behaviour and character based on that info.
This way LFS could become a usefull tool for all who have projects like this on their own.
It would help them get a feel for what they are doing.
And might also help in making the correct choises in regard to what modifications the car needs next.

There is also another side to this. Who wouldn't want to be able to drive his own car in this sim ?

The Gear indicator is usefull. Especially when new players try the game.
I think you are too self centered ian.H
Most people here appreciate the gear indicator, and considder it
not to be a girly aid, but a practical one.
Honestly, this whole thread has been a wasted effort.

On off feature might be nice ... though ....
That way, ian.H can use his super hearing and perfect memory
to drive the way he wants. 110% Focus!!
For the rest of us who don't care about being l33t, we can leave it on,
and have the comfort of checking every now and then.

You must have been driving all the wrong road cars ian.H
most __new__ cars have gear indicators in the dash.
Especially the ones with Automatic or Paddle gears.
All new Audi and VW with Auto gear or Flappy Paddles, dsg models have it.
All new Mercedes models with auto, semi auto, or paddle gears have it.
I can even remember my moms old Mercedes A160 from 1999, that had it too.
You'll even find it on certain Fords.... if you get into a shitty Daihatsu with automatic, you can bet yourself it has indicators in the dash.
Ferraris have Gear Indicators ... and why ? Because it's needed when driving sequensial, and it's comfortable when using automatic.

If we were to remove everything we don't need, then what would we have in the end ?
