Quote from Rtsbasic :I used a joystick (Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D, now my gear selector) for almost a year of LFS, then i brought S1 and a wheel at the same time, and the wheel after a bit of pratice did make my laptimes a lot faster. Problem with joysticks is fatigue, and trying to be consistant in the corners.

If you don't have £70 spare for a Driving Force Pro, splash out £20 and get a 2nd hand Microsoft Sidewinder force Feedback. I have a non-FF one, used it for a long time and got very fast with it. Still use its pedals (I believe they have laser pots). For a bit more you can get the Logitech Momo Racing, never used one but apparently they're nice units.

I cant assign the right joystick to accel/braking, when i choose the joystick controller by default the left joystick does both steering and accel/braking!!

baaaaad,

how do you fix this?

Quote from P1lot :Yes, I've got three devices connected. Wheel, joystick (use the buttons for voting/pitting/views), gamepad (use the buttons and axis for replay watching).
Go to options>controllers. The available axis are listed on the right, and should be simple to program a function to a button.

I have a duel shock PS2 controller, but i can assign the joysticks,,,, any ideas?

It means your joysticks are a bit sensitive, best thing i dont know if LFS have this this or not but to adjust the dead zone and the steering sensitivity,

Also i couldn't assign my right joystick to accel and braking,,,, how did you do it ?
Cant assign joysticks!

I just cant seem to assign my joysticks on this game! by default the left joystick does the steering and the accel and braking, not really good at all.

i usually use right joystick to accel and brake and the left one for steering.

Is there a plug in or fix for this...
