After the disappointment at Brno (machine failure) Craig was having an awesome ride at Brands Hatch.

You probably would have won the race against Rea and Pitt if your bike was as fast as the Ten Kate machines, however you did a brilliant job making up lost time on the corners by taking different lines from the other guys.

To be dicing with Andrew Pitt, a past World Champion and Jonathan Rea you showed the World how good you were.

I'm really sad that you won't be around to entertain me and all the other Bike fans for years to come.

Condolences to your family and friends. The World is missing a great rider and a real character from what I have seen.

I prefer bike racing. I follow Moto GP and World Superbikes and sometimes catch the BSB and AMA races on TV over here.

My absolute favourite is Real Road Racing - Isle of Man TT, North West 200 etc. Those guys are the bravest on the planet bar none I think.

If you get a chance to watch some of those guys on You Tube have a look, they are awesome.

The best car racing for passing seems to be the Touring Car championships but its not as exciting as the Bikes.

The price of fuel is approx $ 1.40 per litre or roughly 65 pence.

You should allow $ 70-80 for a car.

A Toyota Corolla on the Avis site is $ 81 per day including all the taxes. The link is below.

They use approx 6 litres per 100km on the open road and 8 litres in the city.

Phillip Island is approx 140 km's from Melbourne.

PS. I recently hired cars in Paris and London from smaller hire companies. They were slightly cheaper, however we had great difficulty locating their premises. I would recomend paying a bit more and sticking to the majors.

I had this problem before and these threads show the answers I received for my MOMO.

I eventually had to take the pedals apart and fixed them following these instructions.

That has lasted about 3 months and now I am having the same problem as you, the brake is staying on a bit.

I guess I'll have to take the pedals apart again.

I have been playing LFS for over a year and it is brilliant, and adictive. Another bonus is that you get to chat to people from all over the world.

I believe Guitar Hero is excellent as well and am hoping my son buys it, however its more of a game you play on your own.

Plus I think you would spend more hours on LFS than playing a GTH.

I don't quite know how the thread deviated to gentlemanly conduct and sword fighting.

I am sitting in Singapore Airport on my way home. We will arrive 24 hours late after the Air France plane shat itself at Charle De Gaulle Airport.

Whatever you do do not use this Airport. The French are lovely people, there airline is ok, however the people running that airport need a rocket up them.

How can a city like Paris that runs the Metro so efficently have an airport that it so inefficent !!!!!

Anyway, I surrived the driving quite well. I went within about 10 kilometres of the centre of Parison the Freeways. Got lost plenty of times but overall the driving experience was fine.

I was surprised that not many people seemed to speed, however after travelling on an open top tourist bus in the centre of Paris, you would have to be mad to try that as a novice.

Again thanks for the help.

Buy the way I ended up in a Chysler Voyager AUTO. I would recomend something like this as you area higher up and can see what is going on around you.

Thanks for the advice. I'm off to the Airport in about 30 minutes.

I will have my wife to navigate and have ordered an automatic for the reasons given as I thought driving a manual would not be to smart.

I will be heading to Euro Disney so hopefully will avoid the heavy traffic.

I don't intend driving into Paris from there, I'll take the train.

I am off on Holiday today and after much thought and deciding against it initially, I took the plunge last night and hired a Car for when we arrive in France.

I have never driven on the Right hand side of the Road before !!!

Am I mad??

You should find approx 300 servers each time you logon, and there is always someone to race with.

To find Servers in our area click the Ping buttom and it will sort them. You can also select the Connections tab and it will sort them into the Servers with the most Racers online.

I mainly use the CTRA Servers.

I think Motorcycle Road Racing is the most exciting form of motorsport. (I'm biased as I used to be involved for a while) although I enjoy any motorsport where the competitors actually pass each other.
The other recomendations are all great, BSB, AMA etc.
I'm right into the Isle of Man TT and the Irish Road Racing series. You can buy DVD's or download some of the action on You Tube.
Check these guys out they are the bravest of the brave.

Race Rejoin function

I understand the logic behind this policy, however at present if you can't rejoin a race has say 5-10 minutes to go, you will probably do what I have been doing, Leave the Game and rejoin.

It is very frustrating when for example you get taken out on the first corner and then you have to sit in the pits cooling your heels until the last Driver comes past the start finish line.

Some suggestions would be;

This function only operates when the Server has more than say 5 drivers on it.

You can only rejoin when there are no other cars close to the Pit exit.

A message is shown on the screen for all Drivers to see advising when the Pit Lane is closed for joining Drivers. This will stop people constantly trying to rejoin before we are allowed to as we don't know when the Pits are open.

I know it is frustrating when you are a clean driver and you get rammed, but you will get there in the end.

I haven't picked up many points lately but get a buzz out of improving my lap times.

To get faster spend some time watching the fast guys and concentrate on getting a good set that suits you. The fast guys sets are often a nightmare to use and often won't suit your wheel/pedal setup.

There is a selection at the bottom of the Server page that you may have checked which says only show servers with Drivers logged on.
if you select show all Servers - including those where no other drivers are logged on you will see them all.

Hi,

This happened to me in the past two days. I got to the lead in a 3 car race (very unusual) the other two people spun off, and driving along nicely and bam, I'm off. On the SS1 server.

I have also been suffering from quite a few disconnects.

I checked my connection and all seemed to be fine.

Is this a Southern Hemisphere problem?

I probably have the race saved if that would help.

Hi,

Through luck rather than by good management I bought my PC in January and opted for 2 x 320MB Hard Drives.

I got XP with a Voucher for an upgrade to Vista as it came out later. I now run XP on one drive and Vista on the other.

LFS works fine on both, however there are a number of things that don't seem to work on Vista like burning and I haven't got around to working out the problem as I'm to busy on LFS.

I think Vista is a great program and I wouldn't buy a new PC without it.

I would recomend you run both.

Hope you feel better soon. I had two compacted wisdom teeth taken out in hospital about 15 years ago (showing my age). I remember having to take painkillers every 4 hours 24/7 to numb the pain for about 6 weeks before I could get into Hospital to get them out (and that was a Private Hospital).

When I came round I was dosed up on painkillers until the next day and then never had a painkiller from then on.

Maybe I was lucky to have had the pain beforehand !!!

I had a similar problem, only mine was that the throttle wasn't going all the way down all of the time and I was getting blown away. (I thought it was just because I am slow)

I was told that the throttle bar and brake bars had to have a white cap at the top to show that they were working 100%.

After cleaning out the Accelerator pedal it worked better but wan't perfect. I have had to uninstall all the Logitech software, reinstall it and then update it to Vista.

It now seems to work perfectly as when I press the accelerator I get a solid throttle bar with a white cap on it.

Ever since I have been playing LFS I had never seen this.

Lets hope my times now start to improve.

I think this Server is great fun however can I make a few suggestions which might reduce the carnage slightly;

1. One track has everyone tearing towards a left hand corner of about a 130 degree's that has to be taken in 1st gear. You can only fit one car at a time through the shoot that follows. This means that unless your lucky your car is wrecked before you start as you get Pummelled from behind and often fly right out of the Carpark. Could the corner be made two lanes wide?

2. On one of the other tracks the layout is great, however if you happen to get wrecked and go back to the pits to start again (Most of the time), you speed out of the pits only to meet the leaders coming straight towards you !!!!

This must be pretty annoying for them if they have already completed most of the race and they get wiped out.

I have discovered that the accelerator pedal is very loose compared to the brake which I can see the white cap on all the time.

Once I took the dust and crap out of the pedals and recalibrated them, they seem to be pretty good.

I just beat my best time at Aston National 1.46.44 in the FXO GTR on a set I have been mucking around with after 6 laps so I am wrap.

I know thats not super fast, but its Fun.

Hi,

I have been driving an FXO GTR at Aston National and can keep up on the Corners but am getting blown way on acceleration. Last night I was watching the fast guys and discovered that their Turbo Boost was pretty much on full under acceleration whereas mine peaks at half to 3/4's.

Is there something wrong with my settings. i use a Logitech Momo setup???

This is the first time I have been kicked off a server since I started playing LFS in January.
