Thats a FMIC or front mounted intercooler. (real life examples) The mitsu Evo has a FMIC as standard, which differs to the Subaru Impreza which has a TMIC or top mounted intercooler
It doesnt take any air in. It has been mentioned that is a radiator. Well in a sense it is, but a radiator is for cooling the water in the cooling system. Any air being taken in, is induced through the airbox or induction feed.
An intercooler, cools the air and exhaust gas mix, that is fed back into the engine from the turbo.
Turbo and Compressor (supercharge) vehicles have intercoolers.
I have those as well..... not so sure I would distribute though. Quite why you you would want to mess with a bug that has long been resolved is beyond me, unless you are looking for something in particular.
I have used a speech to text app - when running league races. I had a team of marshalls covering the corners and when they called an accident, that required a yellow flag - then I said a key word for that corner. When the accident cleared I would say another key word for that corner and the green would be displayed.
It was quite complex and occasionally messed up - but it was clear when it worked.
Don't worry about the distance. I flew to the states and went golfing with guys whom I met through on line Golf. Had a great time, meeting new people, seeing new cultures etc.
I went to the first UK LFS Kart meet, It was great, everything/ everybody was spot on.
If you want to do it, you will. You just need a strong minded individual to organise it, and your away.
Go for it.
Make it an attractive enough event, and you never know who might turn up???
Some one has posted up a karting session in Kent - some time... I dont recall it being a formal LFS event type thing - just more of a like minded get togethor thing.
Ahhhh Blackbird, you have stumbled accross an old path I used to follow most often. Although the AI's are a little rigid in performance, they do often entertain. They do learn, and get better with time, even though there ability is flawed.
I found my next avenue of progress was as follows. You may choose to take the path?
3 or 4 class racing, with a slower class, to ensure some over taking and mixing up of the classes, prevents the hitting of every corner spot, as the occasional back marker gets in the way.
Lan racing - if you have the capability....
Take 3 or 4 pcs, and race them against each other - either 1 car from each class on each pc, or race each class on each pc.
I found that often, the lowest spec pc won.
I lost many hours devoted to this cause, however it was most enjoyable. Even tried to set up and AI league with my team mates, but it didnt capture their imagination.
Great Vid - just some info on the car you seem to be discussing.
I have had the pleasure of chatting with the Driver and CO Driver of the Pink/Orangey/Red car at Chatsworth House @ the Rally show.
Olaf Dobberkau - Drives for ProRallye Team Porsche. He actually races that car in the German Rally championship, and he was the first driver to win a round in the GRC in a Porsche since 1983.
He also owns a rally school at the Ring, if your ever that way. Really nice fella.
The car itself, is awesome - standing on the start line next to it, it pops and bangs on the over run into a corner and gear changing. Awesome bit of Kit.
If you do want to get up close and personal with this type of car, and you live in the UK, or are visiting the UK on the 5th/6th June 2010, get your self up to Derby, Chatsworth, its a great weekend - not too expensive either. Its the most spectator Friendly rally I go to, and there's a mass of things to do. The Rally operates over 12 hours saturday and Sunday.
I am not saying I advise it - its common on the Mark 4 - The handling is pretty terrible as it is - and you cant make it any worse.
The reason it has be removed is that it fouls the drive shafts. This can be avoided tho with an uprated or adjustable ARB (whiteline). An standard Audi TT Front ARB will fit and goes over the top. The whitline actually goes over the drive shafts rather than under it so it doesnt catch.
Having done a bit of reading on this this morning, its possible to do this and "recommended" (possibly by certain mechanics and the manurfacturer themselves) by VW/Audi on the RS4 to remove the ARB with out any detrimental effect.
Take a golf Mk4, put coil overs on it - if you really want to lower the car, so excuse the phrase - to put it on its arse, then yes, you can remove the ARB and run with out a problem. However... the MOT man (in the UK), will have issues with this. The car was designed with a ARB in place, and if the MOT man (or Woman) knows it should have one - it will fail its MOT. The other way is to cut the ARB and only have it going half way - so effectively, cutting the centre out. This allows additional lowering - but again the MOT man (or Woman) if they know there golfs, will again fail the car.
May I ask the OP - why are you asking? I am just trying to understand the thought behind your question or as to why you came to consider the theory.
I am having a few issues, that I thought I might raise.
I personally dont like the new 3 screen setup. Just to add I am running windows 7 and a THTG.
Now with the 3 monitor view, both the left and the right screens seem to angle away, and the perspective is very wrong in my eyes, to the point of after 1 hours off line testing I now feel sea sick. I have changed back to running 1 monitor (ie the old view) and it feels so much better.
I have noticed a 30% frame drop running the new set up. dropping from a consistant 80 frames to 50 - 55.
Lastly - I have run a few test with the new setup , seeing if I change the view point around, FOV and Bezel to see if I can sort out the issue (ie make it feel better for my self - to try and persevere and see if I can get used to it), and have now found the following.
I have changed back to the single center monitor view (the old setup but still suing 3 monitors) and when I tab from car to car, I have various different views, when changing from car to car. As though each car I have viewed from - now has individual settings. Really strange. its as though each AI that was running now has its own view settings. Should this be the case?
Q - How can I change the colour of the sky messages - as white text on a cloudy sky is difficult to see sometimes. in terms of the sector interval times.
No hard feeling BBO - you had a stunning race to get back up there. I was trying not to throw the race away for 1 place, and it wasnt quite scared but enough to make me swear a bit. Good race bud.
MY target in this race, was to not get lapped. I am no a frequent finisher, having progressed from the continual disconects, and putting in fairly good laps.
My pre race practice was sorting out tyres that would run 30 laps and adjusted my set to tun R4's. I can run low 106.'s and qualifyied in 12th on R4's. I hadnt sorted a qualy set that I was comfortable with and was happy yo be mid pack.
I got the inside line in to turn 1 and didnt see any major carnage - However into turn 1 of lap 2 - things started to get a bit bunched. I had got upto 6th and - I dont know who the driver was, but I was goin side by side into the fast chicane. Now we all know, it doesnt work.... but we both gave way - then we both floored and went through side by side...... I got hit by the spinning car bumping over the curbs....
Light to heavy passenger side damage and after 2 laps - realised that it was too much. It was wearing my trye. Made the choice to pit and repair damage. Only took 8 seconds.
Out into 18th place (or so)..... Had a few battles along the way with a couple of UFR's, and Exodus just flew past me, as though he had a train to catch.
Got back up as far as 8th and got beaten back to 9th by BBO, who had some unusual defensive manouvers into turn 1. (If you had left the track because I hit you (I had no choice), then I would not have felt any shame, you had the place, based on pace - that was very clear.
Regardless..... Kamo finished his race 2 secs behind me..... who allowed m to finish with out being lapped. Ran out of fuel on turn 2 of the slow down lap...... I cut that a wee bit to fine.
Good race, a little miffed at being forced to pit, but I don't think I should have been up in 6th on lap 2.....
