Yes you can, but the song maker / artist will hate that.

btw, using audacity:
(if set in english)
open target file, then click... File --> Edit Metadata --> Clear --> OK ---> Export Audio...
or, open target file --> Export Audio --> Save (.ogg file type) --> Clear --> OK

Yes, original deeper.ogg will crash LFS,

then I re-save deeper.ogg (in any bit rate), LFS not crash, deeper.ogg played normally in LFS.

I also tried re-save deeper.ogg to very high bit rate (350),
so its size is bigger = 11 mb, LFS still fine.

I suggest you to quit FBM race for a while,
then go with XFG or XRG, fast racers on those cars are less/none exploiting the physics flaw/bug, this condition lead to another good/better race condition in general.

Re-save the skin to .dds format without mipmaps probably can solve it too,
but in most case shimmering problems will occur if no mipmaps.

Nordschleife from that site probably not as good (accurate?) as GTR EVO/Race Steam or AC version, but the car it self is very challenging to drive, with default setup (can't setup) and no assist.

BMX amateur free-style was my ex-'backstreet' hobby,

Long ago I have two bmx with custom gear (single speed, normal crank),
one with basic gear (44/18-freewheel) for cruise & free-style,
and the other one using 52/12-doltrap for top speed bmx race,

cycling... more sweat - more temptation to increase speed,
do cycling in the rain... owwh I really missed that XD.

if you didn't have this problem in the past with the same machine, probably old LFS version had FSAA set to OFF by default (?).

in my situation (nVidia gpu), FSAA (LFS option) blocking some feature of d3d9 sweetFX,
so I had to turn it off, then using nVidia FXAA & AA (I don't see FSAA in nvidia option),

and about intel onboard graphic + FSAA, look here:

XBO deadzone,

btw, my PS2 pad have larger deadzone after long time,
but in contrast my 360 pad have smaller deadzone when getting older, till its no deadzone (always move to left XD).

Yes X-Box controller is the best gamepad, its analog is very detail and smooth.

But IMO the good controller for playing LFS "offshore" is mouse (I hope some mouse driver can give some advice),

if you wanna stick to non X-box gamepad (cheaper/bad analog/digital only),
and you need sensitivity adjustment like on keyboard option (steer rate, return rate, etc...),
here... use JOYtoKEY,

...setup the control for keyboard (key, steer rate...), but then you play using gamepad.
