I used to run it on a laptop until this past October, I mentioned onboard graphics because in another thread I read a user couldn't run lfs with their graphics card and that they had to turn on the onboard graphics to launch lfs.

I'm running a desktop ,Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC 1150MHZ 2GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card, Corsair 500W PSU, Gigabyte H97M-HD3 mATX LGA1150 H97 DDR3 PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 Xfire SATA3 USB3 HDMI Motherboard, Intel Core i5 4690K Unlocked Quad Core 3.5GHZ/3.9GHZ Processor LGA1150 Haswell 6MB, Crucial MX100 128GB SATA 6Gbps 150/550MB/S 2.5” 7MM (With 9.5MM Adapter) SSD, Western Digital WD1003FZEX Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5in Hard Drive OEM, G.SKILL RipjawsX F3-1866C9D-16GXM 16GB 2X8GB DDR3-1866 CL9 240PIN 1.5V Dual Channel Memory Kit, Asus Pheobus Solo sound card, mid tower case, liquid cooler and other extras.

Just an update, this probably is gone when audio output is set to speakers.
I'm running a true 7.1 headset which when selected as audio output both LFS and R3E launch just perfectly.

When HDMI (my TV output) is selected is where this problem lies with this soundcard.

Cheers Smile

I enabled onboard audio, took my case apart to remove the soundcard and uninstalled all drivers of the card.

Now LFS and R3E work.

However, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor 2, GSCE, older simbin titles, Project Cars, ORC, Witcher 3, Arma 3, Portal 2, DayZ, Miscreated, Amnesia, Penumbra, Stalker, Red Orchestra 2, Killing Floor 2, Next Car Game: Wreckfest, Kerbal Space Program, Insurgency, The Forest, BeamNG, Alien: Isolation and Rust all work with the sound card.

Is the card or devs in the blame here?
I can't see myself going through this process just to play these two games, especially when the sound card is actually a big improvement over my onboard.
Agh!

Anyone have any ideas?
Never had this issue on an old Windows XP machine, second hand laptop, or my current gaming rig.
I've used LFS Associations, launching from shortcut, nadda.

Last idea I have is to enable my onboard graphics, but I've use my gtx 760 no problems up until now.
LFS.exe has stopped working

I simply cannot get the game to launch. I deleted, redownloaded multiple times even trying older versions and nothing is working.
Run as administrator, different windows compatibility settings, nadda.

I've never had issues launching LFS, I've been playing it since the mid 2000's.

Running a GeForce GTX 760, i5 4670K, 16gb ram.

So in all I get 2-3 seconds of the first loading screen followed by LFS.exe has stopped working.
Restart system, re download, etc.
