Ok, i'll go rebuild the computer and lower the clocks a bit. I'll probably go for 3.2/940mhz (ram)/stock settings w/ the videocard. Sorry if it seemed i just jmped at anything, I was just surprised because right when I started the new powersupply, all (almost) my settings that i have been running for the past couple of months failed, so maybe it was just a coincidence. Thanks for all the help ill go try that right now.

Hello, I got myself an xfx 9800gtx about 3 months ago. I got a new ps yesterday (antec neopower 650w), right after I installed it the problems started dun dun dun.... ok ok so I start the computer, once it gets to the bios suddenly it starts complaining about the o'c ive been using for the past 4-6 weeks has failed. So I downclock it and it starts fine, I just guessed that my pc needed to get used to the psu and afterawhile i would be able to oc it back to regular speeds again. So everything worked fine for a while (1-2 hours playing lfs) suddenly everything started freaking out (tones of honeycomb-like artifacting) so I start freaking out (lol) I restart my pc and everything seems fine..... untill I start lfs to see that its artifacting, not as bad as the previous one, but theres still some artifacting. So I decide to downclock the videocard and it seems to work, games still like to freeze more often (1-2 freezes every 10-20 mins which makes me have to minimize and open out) THEN nvlddmkm starts acting up more then usual and game me bsod (bsod told me the cause was nvkddmkm.sys) Which im not sure is my fault or the cards f-f-fault.So I decided to reinstall my old psu (cooler master 500w which i've used for the past year and a half) and rma for a refund the antec psu. Even with the old powersupply my gpu is still being retarded, and today my gpu told me i couldnt change my fan speed, in evga precision its not letting me adjust the fans anymore, which it was letting me adjust the day before. I'm thinking i just fried my gpu with a defective psu "oh great!" so now i'm switching to ATi to try out their line of cards (a sapphire hd4870 512).
I need your comments cause I still want to figure out what happened to the card, (did I fry it?/driver (180.48) error?/format (rofl)/). It runs just fine when I dont play any games and idles at 45*c (it used to Idle at 35*c before the fan stopped listening to me).

well ill have a bit of help from my sister's boyfriend whos been building pc's for around 8 or 9 years now. (he's 24) but yeah i guess its a bit to late to un-modify the pc but i guess if it breaks its my fault. but yeah its fine with me, ill just save up for some more parts.

when i bought the psu it already came with the fan stuck to the bottom (i didnt modify it) .
its an HP pavillon a6330f. (i just turned 13 and just starting to get into modifying pc's im thinking of building my own sooner or later). but yeah im not really sure where to fit the fan if i get a new one.

no theres a fan attached to the bottom of the psu. that sucks air into the psu and out the back. so it does both *i think*

I cleaned the fans yesterday. Im just downloading some big thing. once im done ill go grab a real pic and lay arrows for the airflow over it in a few mins (once its done).

100% haha (using the EVGA precision tool) not overclocked at all (well its factory overclocked) the pc's almost completely stock (didn't build it) except for a new psu (500w old one was 300) and the card.

Uhh hi again umm I have a question about my gfx card and heat. Usually my card runs 46-60*C (54 right now just cause its a hot day) not under load. Ive tried it with RD:Grid and it got around 69-75. Is that regular or is that a bit too hot, if it is would you suggest i add a fan to keep it cool?

[edit] I got it to run by removing all my multiplayer passwords and my create host passwords. Weird this always (to be tested) happens to me when I try running an insim program. :l

Ok heres what happened, i was being blind thinking y looked like v, it was just me thinking i have done something very stupid, thank you to all of you who tried helping me. And a mod or so pls delete/lock this post, thanks. (I'm probably going blind)

Ok well this is really wierd, whenever I start lfs, everything runs fine but when I look at the first menu (the main one) it says LFS 0.V (or something) But it says lfs 2002 - 2007 beside it. When I load the servers only a couple come up 4-10 and beside they're names says V. But the clutch heating, FBM, graphic updates work in it and the icon is still the new one.
(oh also could you tell me where I can get the lfs Y patch (so I dont have to download the whole thing again) Thanks!
