thanx alot everyone,.. so im gonna try and check out the temperature...

one question.. is it possible that this is caused by lack of power supply?? my laptop is connected to an extension which is pretty long, with alot of stuff connected to it... could that be any problem?

I have a new XPS laptop for 2 months now. When I first got it, LFS was running fine.

Just 2 weeks ago, the PC started to shut down automatically while playing LFS. so, while im playing, maybe for 10 min (sometimes less, sometimes more) the PC just shuts down..

-It does nor happen when I play other games

-I updated my drivers, (i thought it could be from new drivers so I installed old ones but still it happened)

-I formated my PC and it still happened..

-I scan regularly for viruses, registry fixes and everything.

plz help...

thank you tristancliffe for such great messages..
You are totaly correct in all your points.. but look at another side..

Nowadays, normal sedans (Lexus, Mercedes, BMWs...) are doing 0-100 km/h in around 5 to 6 seconds...
Back in the time your talking about, that was Ferrari performance...

So, imagine a place with cars this powerful with No traction control and computers?? (Chaos). not everyone can drive like you and me,...

If you know how to drive, you have the koenigsegg, zonda, porsche GT... expensive, but there are cars for all markets...

so gimmicks and computers in cars are sometimes good

(not for LFS ofcourse)

take care

so JeffR : You would rather drive one of those ladas instead of a modified 350Z??

tristancliffe = And ofcourse wider tyres are better... then why do porsches, lamborghinis, F1 cars have really wide tyres???

The point of all that is that LFS is a simulator.. So, if it simulates road cars, then it should for current road cars..

LFS was developed about 5 years ago (not sure).. they were fine then.. but now, cars should be updated...

It can be made to a 1,600cc or 1,800cc maybe

I mean comeon... 1.3 liter?? thats like the worst Suzuki or Daihatsu available... 1.6 or 1.8 is more average.. like a VW Polo or Golf

hello..

I dont want to start on saying how much I love this game because I wont finish..

The only thing I have in mind about it is the power of the road cars. I think theyre too week comparing to real cars these days.
They would be fine 5 years ago. but now?
they should all increase 50 - 100 more horsepower.

examples:

XR GT Turbo = 245HP ==> 320 HP
XF GTI = 115HP ==> 160 HP
RB4 GT = 241 HP ==> 310 HP

Road cars need to be updated comparing to real cars..

Any comments..

thanx for such a fantastic game... and patch Y is AWSOME
LFS and amBX technology

amBX is a new technology that has peripherals like lights, fans and rumblers which connect to your PC...
It brings the game environment to you...

It can:

- Wind will blow on you as you drive fast with an open wheeler..
- Your seat will rumble as the revs are going up.

just more immersion and fun...

PS: Toca 3 already has this feature

thank you...
