I had this problem too.

What I noticed is when I use SHIFT+A to see all the sound settings, I left that window up and raced. When I got some glitches (like mini-freeze then skip frames) I noticed the top of the sound settings window said "CLIPPING" in red.

This is indeed due to onboard soundcard. Not sure what fix, if any, can be done other than replacing it with a PCI sound card.

Quote from Jakg :Vista sidebar + Currency Gadget if your so inclined.

Personally i forget about currencies - a handy little Firefox extension converts them for me, although thanks to the dodgy US dollar, whenever anyone says "my $.02" after their opinion it converts it to £, making it £0.00 (via rounding), which technically means all Amercians opinions are worthless

HAHAHAHA! Us americans are always adding our 2 cents, even though it's worthless elsewhere.

Quote from AndroidXP :Geez, they're totally out of date by now.

If you goto my brokerage www.itradefx.com you can register for a free 30 day trading demo and download our trading platform (you don't have to trade, the platform will show you the rates, realtime, for dozens of currencies!

P.S. I'm not trying to plug the business I work for here at LFS, I'm just trying to get the currency rates to the masses!

I work for a Foreign Exchange Broker (I'm their programmer :P )

As of Today (August 14th 2007 at 13:13 EST)

USD->GBP 1.9994 (£1 = $1.9994)
EUR->GBP 0.6783 (€1 = £0.6783)
GBP->JPY 235.90 (£1 = ¥235.90)

Just so were clear. These are the current exchange rates from my trading platform (rates pulled from wallstreet with a 2 sec delay).

Quote from mrodgers :You paid $52? Currently (well, a few days ago), the exchange rate was $48 for LFS. Is the dollar gaining in strength!!!???!!! [/sarcasm]

I work for a Foreign Exchange Broker, so I watch all the currencies shift on a daily basis. Yes, the US dollar has gained ground against the GBP. But last I checked (today at 9am EST) the GBP was making a comeback at the current exchange rate of 1.9994. (1 GBP = 1.9994 USD)

But even still, it was a great investment!

hmmm, I've bought Toca Race Driver 3 after trying LFS about 2 years ago. I didn't like it back then so I drove on Toca. A few months ago I bought Race: WTCC and enjoyed it for about a month until someone said something about LFS in a multiplayer game. I bashed it and sayed it sucked, he said "Have you tried it recently".

I had to admit, I hadn't. So I downloaded the demo again and remember that poor GUI look, but once I got past the face of the game, I started to enjoy the demo racing. So I played the demo online for about 3-6 months and finally (with my wife nagging me the whole time) bought S2 and haven't touched another game since (that was around a month ago, so not really a long time to compare with).

But even still. I love it, best $52 I ever spent on a game!

Quote from Crashgate3 :I *really* like the black nose on that FOX. Something I've never seen on a skin before.

yey, I did something unique. I'm actually surprised that no one has done this before. If you look at some Indy cars here in America, there are a few like that, solid base color for the nose with stripes or some other design running down the length. I just did mine banana yellow and black.

fixed. The spokes on the wheel keep their shine, while the suspension got painted. The wheel manufacturer is now visible on all wheels. Added additional reflections in the body chasis. These are the final versions.

the render didn't get the front right tire right. I'm workin on that now. The suspension is chromed, it's just hard to get it rendered correctly with no environment.

Hey fellow racers.

I'm new to LFS but I've been working in 3D for a long, long time. I decided to personalize myself while I raced online so I made my own skins for my race cars.

Here is a render of my FOX skin (I like racing FOX).

http://www.gabereiser.com/FOX_ ... 1_yellow_render_small.jpg

Software used: 3D Studio Max 9
Renderer: Default Scanline (Brazil is expensive for something you can achieve in MAX anyway).
Time per Frame: 00:59:23
Rendered Resolution: 1600x1200
Linked Rendered Resolution: 800x600

Controller: Logitech Driving Force Pro w/ FF
Date of first LFS race (approx if you don't remember) : a year ago
Racing frequency (10 or fewer races per week, 10-20 races per week, 20+ races per week): 20+ races per week
Normal race times (morning/day, evening, weekend): evening, weekends, Eastern Times.

I've played the demo a lot, but I waited to purchase S2 and i'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

I've made my own FOX skin and I am familiar with the whole LFSWorld desktop and that jazz. I also have enough money on my account to download over 10,000 skins so I'm good to go for hard core (if you guys are willing).
