Hope it gets sorted soon anyways! ... as you say, the insertion of a fourth shift point for the redline would be a good idea.
It may make it slightly more realistic to put a 5th shift point in too, so 1-4 thought the rev range then the 5th for the redline? Might make it a bit smoother? Don't know if it would work but its an idea

Iv'e found a way around the lack of shift light problem, for now anyways.

The program has 3 throttle position reading which corospond to RPM shift points, which depending on how hard your pressing the throttle makes it change at a later shift point (sorry for bad explanation... im tired).
Thier origionally
50% - 2200RPM,
70% - 3800RPM,
90% - 4500RPM Approx.
Anyways, if you make the third point 100% throttle and near the redline (say 7300RPM in a car that redlines at 7500RPM) then it works when you floor it

Try it and see, cause it works for me

So could this mean... as testing is complete for now, that if there are no more problems, we could soon see S3?

Quote from Olaa1 :Irl with a real life car i can push it abit over the redline.
in lfs you cant, it just stops. and dont pumps back n forward like it should.

Not with all cars. With my car when it hits the limiter it just holds it at the redline, no bouncing and i cant go over. Iv'e also driven a few other cars than mine which cant be pushed past the redline, cause the limiter kicks in.

Yeah Random was the wrong word, sorry about that. Didnt know how to express what i meant

Yeah i agree. Something else that ties into all this and should be implemented is the failure of parts. As we all know, when racing, the cars parts (engine internals especially) take a seveare beating, especially in longer races, and somtimes parts fail. This would add some unpredictability to the racing, so that the fastest driver may not necceserally come first if they dont look after their car (over-revving when downshifting for example... putting excess stress on engine parts). I think this would make for some interesting racing and more realism of course, which is what i think LFS is all about

+1 for a Real Auto... simply because it would add to the realism and wouldnt take anything away from what we allready have If you didnt like it then just choose not to use it. Also, im sure it wouldnt be that hard to to

I have to change it to a JPEG file using a converter to change the texture to how i want it... then when im done adjusting, i change it back to .dds format before putting the new, adjusted file back into the LFS folder where i took it from... as i said in the previous post. I know what i'm doing as ive adjusted interiors before... and never had a problem ... untill now... all i want to know is why the colour isn't changing and if anyone else has had this problem.

Yup. i change it to a JPEG to alter it in photoshop, then change it back to .dds before i put it in the .dds folder in LFS
XR Texture Colour Problem

Heya guys. Was wondering if any of you fellow LFS'ers can help with this...

Basically i decided to slightly change the colour of the Interior texture of the XR cars, because to me it looks a little on the green side, and i'd like it to be darker / more black. However, when i changed the texture file using photoshop to make it darker it didnt work... just stayed the same green :S "Oh well" i thought, maybe its just that particular texture... so i then tried the "Leather3" texture as its quite a nice one, darkened it a little and re named it... but in LFS its still the same green colour... however i think the actual texture has changed slightly. So has anyone else had this problem and knows how to solve it? if so please help thanks in advance;

P.S not sure if this is the right section, so please move if appropriate

I use Photoshop CS3 which is really great. Simpler and easier to use than previous versions, and much more compatible too A bit expensive though.

Hey, nice looking interiors! just the leather texture is a little too big as the crevases of the leather are too large I think another good combination would be black leather with a silver metal where the wood is now... more of a grey - silver rather than a bright silver if you get me .. just a thought nice work
