I had this same question when working on my LX4 skin. I have a good friend who uses PS for a living and had her help me out. What she came up with was a multi layer system on the areas I needed to be chrome. Each layer had a different sort of effect or color spray applied to it. I thin in all the headlamps where a total of 6 color layers, that in the end look quite nice. Now over a whole car.... I don't think this same method would work or look good at all.

A poor man's Chrome is the reflection mod over some silver/gray.

Where is the rust spots and miss matched fenders?

Those are nice. I will have to add these to my growing stack of skins.

Having just started this game as well as never having used Photoshop before I have not really developed a method. I tend to suck at being original so I tend to look around on Flickr, Ebay, and Google Images until I find something that strikes me. I try to pick something that would be recognizable. Once I find something I like, I hit up these boards to make sure it has not been done 100 times already then I am off! From there I loose myself in the painting and learning process until I am happy with it. My last one took me about 12 hours but that also included learning curves and futzing around with the damn wheel arches that never worked out.

I too plan to get a tablet here soon for this.

Here is my second skin for public use. This FZR should be easy to recognize. This took longer then I thought it would and I was not able to get the rear wheel arches on there. Well actually I did but I was never happy with the way they looked due to the warping of the skin so I just left them off all together. If anyone wants to add them be my guest.

1024 and 2048 available to use.

To be honest the 1024 for general use does not look all that good in game and use of the 2048 is recommended. How those are available for download I am still not sure since I am figuring this all out.

This is the first skin I have made so far and it is similar to the LX6 on the first page but for the LX4. I based this skin directly off of pictures of the good Sevens from Lotus and Caterham. Clean, simple, and classic.

Including 2048^2 and 1024^2
