Quote from Secondaries :I think this would be a great idea. If it's possible, however, I think the effect should be gradual and not simply set. Let the FOV be standard while sitting still, and as you go faster a sort of "tunnel" vision sets in.

Agreed. I think that it would drive me nuts if it was like that when I was sitting still but definitely less noticeable when I'm thinking about approaching a corner rather than my fisheye view.

I like the idea. I think the fact is the little things visually do matter. If the developers make the menus and such a touch "flashier" it would draw in more racers and in turn more money. I think the fact is that since we live in a YouTube society, so many people are learning of LFS through videos. However I feel like many of these younger racers are easily turned off by the primitive look to the menus in the game. I think that basic is good but I think that too many people are making the assumption that primitive menus equals primitive gameplay. Yes I realize that this isn't what the game should be judged on but I do feel that sadly, this is what many prospective racers do see in the game. Flashier menus wouldn't do anything to the physics that the enthusiasts love so much, but might bring in more people, more money, and in turn more improvements to the in-game aspects.

I think it would be a good change for LFS to turn up the visual appeal of the game a little bit because we would definitely get more racers. By no means am I talking about some NFS style menus and "cool racer chicks". But a cleaner more modern look would definitely not hurt.

Quote from zeugnimod :I think Victor once said that those information are already stored somewhere, just not publically available.

I'm indifferent towards this but it probably would be good for the people who care about hotlaps.

Well my apologies if this has already been suggested I just thought it was a simple solution to the people that have been ranting about wasting their time if their records will be deleted.

+1 I like this idea. I think that it would be fair to have a touge track. I think it's unfair to say it is drift oriented because although I'm sure the drifters would get a kick out of it, I would personally (and I'm sure others back me) like to race grip on it because it would be a unique challenge.

I think since the update to Patch Y and the extensive complaints about world records changing and blah blah, that it would be a good idea to simply include a Hotlap Hall of Fame where users could simply look at the WR times for certain tracks on certain patches. I realize that this would not help the fact that some of their e-fame has diminished, but I think the racers that are truly dedicated to getting a WR would like the fact that they can still race on an old patch and reference the WRs from previous versions. I mean honestly if they care that much, the personal satisfaction from breaking the WR they were previously working towards should outweigh the e-fame benefits (if there are any).
