Why doesn't the class have a set online distance restriction e.g. 10 000 km? that way there is a line in the sand, cause after one season i'm not going to be comfortable enough to race in the big time yet
Im sorry man, that is a bit soft... i get absolutely wiped out and have to pit 4 repairs, finish last and dropped way out of my championship spot by a guy who has only raced in 2 rounds???? now thats fine usually but the move was outrageous?! He just kept coming across and its not like i had my nose in there, SIDE BY SIDE... I was side by side and he put me on the grass, not just squeezed me for room he took me totally off the track in 5th gear under the bridge?! I did everything i could to save the car but c'mon, fair is fair?

Reason : had time to cool off a bit... rethought some of my words... sorry guys
I'd like to draw your attention to rules 5.9, 5.10 and 5.11 of the LFSBC rules...
5.9 - "If you make a significant driving error and another driver or
driver’s attempts to capitalize on it then you have reduced
rights to counter their attack. If one or the other has to give way, it
should be the driver who made the initial error."
5.10 - "The onus is entirely on the driver recovering from any incident
that leaves them in any way an obstacle or a hazard to other
drivers, to take all necessary care, hazard minimization, and
responsibility not to interfere with any cars still on the track
and not part of the incident."
"It may mean moving as fast as
you safely can to the non-racing-line side of the track."
5.11 - "The onus is entirely on the driver returning to the track after an off to take all necessary care and responsibility not to
interfere with any cars still on the track."
"The onus is entirely on the driver returning to the track after an
off to take all necessary care and responsibility not to
interfere with any cars still on the track."
I'm happy to cop the penalty, i'd just like some clarification? i.e. was he back to speed? did i take the wrong side to overtake?
Yeah, sorry about that, i didn't apologise because of the no in race chat thing. From my point of view you were on the grass through the right kink and then shot out in front of me leaving me with nowhere to go? this also happened on lap 9 but i had time to brake for that one...
As for lap one with jack, dean was a little slower so i went to the outside of him, got squeezed for room and started my braking on the outside kerb sending the car left and into your path, so again apologies but i didn't say anything mid race because of the chat ban.
I'd like to put my hand up for that one, i moved over to the left of the road thinking i was clear of TG44. Luckily it was me who spun out and not him...
Sorry, i didn't change the layout at all, i think the layout is great, i just put the "pit lane exit" into show what i was talking about... hope i haven't upset you? I didn't know about the permissions thing?
Sounds like the improvements will make it better for racing!
Time trials would work well around this layout, single car on the track at a time with everyone getting two runs at the track at the event? This is much like how they run the autocross at actual FSAE/Formula Student events.
Say run the cars in entry order, you get an outlap, two "flying" laps and then pull left at the last turn back to the pit area at which time the second car could be waiting at the edge of the barrier there to start their outlap as soon as the other car exits? (See attached picture...)
This could help with the filming of the event with only the single car on track at one time, also with peoples frame rates, the barriers slow them enough without 15 other cars on such a tight track might cause carnage?
Just an idea? Thought i might share? BTW i am having so much fun with this series thing, a big thanks to all who are organising!
why can't the safety car travel at about the pit lane limit? or maybe over at like 100km/h?
F1 only thrash the safety car cause the f1 tires can't handle it and go out of their working range, the FBM isn't a f1 car and we start on cold tires anyway so a minimum speed on the safety car isn't an issue?
if it cruised at a constant 100km/h that gives more time to clear accidents with minimal loss of laps?
"racing" the safety car only adds to the bunching and collisions behind it...
Other than that the sessions were awesome, the race control calls were great and the quality of racing and speed was superb. I look forard to the next one!
I don't but my ISP is based in West Aus so maybe thats it? im more than willing to run the practice and then pull out if im messing things up, this is just for fun for me and i don't want to mess up everyone else's fun?
