Hmm, we did not expect making it to the accepted teams' list. But not including us in the waiting list... guys c'mon. You're losing a good team and good battles. We move on... awaiting for the feeder series
Though still rumour-ish, this is great news. Will there be an official test race for the feeder series? Seriously, please consider other popular measures such as:
Limit on the minimum number of laps done on league combos
Hotlap within some percentage of a WR
CTRA licenses
Pre-qualification sessions
Even though these rules might sound cruel, they are at least clear. I hope you guys find the time and staff for the new series. Good luck!
We practiced moderately hard for the event, at least so we think. We had a diversified roster with each driver having the upper hand over the other two in some aspect and our race set was great as well. We want to thank the ZION and Lublin-Muroc teams for joint practice :fence: Below follows our story.
On race day, so soon as we illegally went into posession of the server password, we were able to join the event in which we had high hopes. As it turned out later, our hopes were far too high Zamer qualified very well, in 7th position, though he had hoped for a better time (like many others). Our frustration started with a drive-through for cutting the pit exit lines during quali. We can't deny our fault, but we don't understand why we were the only one of a few teams doing this that got a penalty. We just don't like the inconsistency and a really low low cut-detection threshold, but there's nothing we can do – we cut and we're punished and nobody said that everyone must be punished – only those caught.
OK, Dominik is on the grid with some really low number of fps (first time with so many cars ahead) and as the cars begin to roll, he encounters some problems with evaluating distance and speed of the cars ahead, knocking a few in the back – sorry guys, this was the matter of fps, not our driver's bad intentions or clumsiness. All of a sudden, we realize we still have the R2s on (the DT made our brains fade) and so we pit and join the rear end.
The race is constantly giving us more reasons for frustration. Cars at the back of the grid lose control every now and then, making us lose these few places that Dominik made up the laps before. Due to this, we are experiencing multiple deja vu-s, swapping places with „that damn orange FXR” . Zamer also spins one car in chicane 1, but this is again due to low fps – big sorry to the RSR team
On lap 26, Zamer's G25 decides to give the shifter some holiday treatment as he tries to slide into T1. A safety car follows and this is it for us. :ambulance Congratulations to all those who finished! :checkered
At least we will be remembered as "that damned pink car", so, in some way, our race was a marketing success
Yes, my stream was stuttering all the time, especially today, but yesterday it was all good. And it wasn't my connection that was the problem I guess.
The commentary crew was great. I had no video, just sound, but it kept me up to date with the latest action while I was working on other things. Gratz to Mercury, F1RST and all those who made it to the end. I was having great fun tracking the race via the tracker, remote and commentary stream. Good job everyone
That's exactly what I'm talking about. But not the likes of GT2 class in the IGTC "B division", but equally powered cars. And a qualifying event only for the B division unless some teams withdraw. Remember this is not real life and it mostly takes only 'driving' abilities and some basic management skills to run a team more or less successfully. Therefore there's no budget restriction and more eligible teams can be found than in real life. That's why I think a multi-division IGTC is the future.

Hi! I haven't had the time to put my few lines in until now. So first, big thanks to everybody involved - the organizers and the competition - for making this race so enjoyable for me.
The most memorable moments were laps 4-14 where, after starting a little mess after the 2nd chicane, I had a great fight with amen1 -7 passes altogether :fence3d: BTW, amen1 - sorry for the slowdown on lap 9, I misinterpreted the yellow flag rule trying not to pass Raeikkonen The battle was over for me when I spun for the 2nd time...
The mistakes I made put me on top of the "Yellow flaggers" list (thanks for the race statistics, JackCY). However, I really enjoyed the 'realism' of driving behind the SC, pitting (a disaster on my side - if you want to laugh, watch my pit-stop), being lapped and finally making it through the in-lap. Good job everyone.
Congratulations to the winner as well as the runners up
Thanks for the replies, I'll check out your suggestions.
Good point
However, I was hoping to get some info on how not to get a cramp in the hand that operates the mouse, which would have something to do with hand position, grip type, leaning point (none, wrist, the whole forearm resting) etc so that the grip can be as relaxed as it can be. Maybe just a decent ion diet and/or quick relaxing exercises while on the long straight (and if so, what exercises)? Or maybe a 'Heal hand injuries' pit option?
Hello everybody. Been playing LFS for some time now, but I'm still a demo racer (started some year ago - May 2007). How come a demo can take up so much time/be that playable? Hope things don't get out of control. "Live for speed" is a fully justified title for this sim
I know these links might already have been posted somewhere, but I think are worth putting in this thread for those asking for tips on driving/setting up the car:
I'm excited not only about the race itself but the preparations for it! I've never done such a long distance, not to speak of the wind and a marshal's eye on me, every overtaking calculated 2 times before attempt... too much new stuff to learn. There's still the pre-quali to do... I'll be happy just to make it onto the grid and cross the finish line without making too much mess throughout
BTW is there a good way to avoid cramps over such a long distance? I'm driving with mouse
