You need to learn to anticipate the moevement of other road users and members of public. This comes with experience. i.e when a bus pulls over, expect people to be crossing the road. If someone is stood at traffic lights, expect thelights to go red etc.

Every time you make a change in progress, when I say progress I mean slow down, speed up, change lane, stop at a junction, pull off at a junction etc. Check your mirrors or do a lifesaver

Thankyou, that has cleared up things.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item ... -24-full-hd-monitor-now-/

It was 2409WFP, not sure if that or the 08

On that HUKD website you can see it reached nearly 2000 degrees, that means AWESOME deal, hence why I was so tempted.

I was soooo tempted when the 24s were reduced in price recently, but couldnt warrant the upgrade from a 22, hence gonna go for the 30.

Ah I think my card is dual link compatiable because it came with the splitter lead thingy Might get the screen first then shell out for a card

Edit: just clicked on your link, Wow £500 for a 24?? How does it compare to the Dell Ultrasharp 24? That was reduced to £180 not so long ago. Is it worth the extra £320?

Its an E6750 Processor.

A full height graphics card wont physically fit in the case.

I rarely play games S14 so it would just be to have more content on the screen, and for CAD work. Never thought about the games not being on full resolution though, good point. But I do need to upgrade to use the screen in its native resolution. And I want that monitor lol.

4550 seems to be the best bet. Will let you know how I get on.

Ta for that S14.I quite like the slim tower, Hides nicely behind my monitor. Not into all the flashy lights etc. Prefer it looking sleek. Not all that into my games, but if I were, then I would look into the XPS range. Watched a couple of their Utube vids and they look awesome. Probably wont need that much power until s4 comes out though.

This card plays LFS fine, and also I havent noticed any problems with COD4 but maybe thats just because I havent played it on anyhting better, I have played on XBOX 360 and PS3 and there wasnt a noticeable difference.

Real reason I want another card for is because I want the 30" Dell monitor which has resolution of 2560 x 1800 or somewhere along them lines and needs a dual input graphics card for max resolution.

I did look at having a second monitor and even third monitor, as this option would have worked out alot cheaper, but the resolution wouldnt be as good, would take up space, i would rarely need all three monitors except maybe if I had LFS set up on it. So 30" seems the way to go. Cant imagine having a PC monitor that big. Apparently can fit 4x as much stuff on it as a bog standard 19".

Thankyou

I hadnt even considered the 9600, one of the guys reviewing it in that link has the same PC as me, and says it seems to be holding up, although he too is some what concerned with the power supply being able to handle it.

Cant find it on overclockers and is very expensive on ebuyer and ebay

I have a Dell Vostro Slim tower.
C2D 2.66 GHz Processor
4GB RAM
ATI X1300 Graphics Card
22" Dell monitor, run LFS on 1680 x something
250W PSU

I only ever play LFS, COD4 and do some AutoCAD work.
Wanting to upgrade my graphics card, LFS plays at around 50FPS at moment with the above resolution, which goes down to 43 at the start of a race.

Wanted to know what half heights graphics card people had? Choices are limited. Best I can find suitable for my machine is the ATI 2400 XT. Does anyone know of any better ones available?

Will these work with my power supply without upgrading it?

thx in advance!

Thunderhead beat me to it. Try listening to them as different people have different preferences and different headphones are better/worse with certain types of music.

Also see Shure E2C and SE210.

If you are buying Sennheiser make sure you buy them from a trusted source, i.e Play.com or Amazon not amazon market place, as there are alot of fakes around. I have some Sennheiser MX 550s still going strong.

Just bought some Sennheiser HD555. You cant really travel with them, but the quality and comfort is amazing! Im not overly into my music but even I can notice the difference in sound quality. A friend of mine who is really into his music said avoid the Bose headphones, reviews arent great either. They are relying on the badge for the hefty price tag.

Quote from speed1 :^^^^
Single track with no big drops. Still narrow and can be technical, just no huge air. Not sure how to better describe it. The guy with a lefty has no need for one. Looks like he is just using it as a commuter. Seems a bit pointless.

I have two, one to commute and one for xc. I wouldnt say it was pointless. Afterall what need do you have to play LFS? I agree its not being tested to the max as a commuter, what need is there for a bicycle at all? or one with so many gears, disc brakes etc. They are all wants.

P.S not having a go, just think if someone wants one, even if its to commute, I would highly recommend. The smallest of details like the cleaning up of welds on frame joints and the amount of work that must have gone into that fork make you appreciate the build quality of the bike.

Theres my xc one

A4074 from Oxford to Reading (i.e same road as foxes diner)

Newbury to Hungerford road

Wantage to Newbury (one of my fave)

If you ever get down towards Bicester, the same road as the one the aprilia dealership is on but turn right where it has a sign for HM prison. Amazing road.

Lol, yeh got a garage but unfortunately its at the back of the house, bikes can get in but no cars. I defo prefer the screaming IL4, although the RSVR is also pretty quick revving. I had the previous RSV and just couldnt get on with it at all.

Lots of nice roads towards Newbury, I often ride towards there.

You from Thatcham Newbury?

Am just round the corner in Oxford. I want a track car but no storage space, so use one biek for track and toehr for road. Been months since I have used them though. Get more time on my bicycle at moment.

Plus need to spend time building cockpit. Having a good race online is almost as much of an adrenaline rush as being on track on the bike. Need to stop my pedals pushing forwards and my seat sliding back though.
