I've never used that "script", I'm not a good driver, just and average one, but I use to race against arrechee and zanini, who does, and can't see the point to call them cheaters. Is not something like "wallhack" on counterstrike, is something that is on the game and would like someone to explain me why exits such an option (button clutch) in LFS. What is button clutch supposed to be for then?
Just take a look: http://www.lfsworld.net/rafa/? ... f2=csimpok_FE2_FXO_117150
You lose almost all of the time on the chicane of last sector, where there is no gear change.
I don't care about this kind of cheat/exploits or what ever it is, but some of you should show a little more respect to drivers who are, at least, as fast as you are.
There are filters when showing hotlaps, may be a filter for manual clutch will calm down some of your egos
Just one though: What happens with real life drivers who change gear without clutch, just doing it at propper revolutions? are they cheating?
There are physics changes too, no matter what lap time you did, now you can't compare with any other, and no one can ever know which LFS version you were playing on that lap.
All PBs online previous to patch Y are fakes, and the only way to know that all current PBs are actual, is deleting them all...
Just becouse there is no way to know that you really did it with X38. Deleting all PBs solves this problem and, in my opinion, deleting PBs online should be a lot less controversial than deleting HVLC times...
I can wait until I see this bug again. It's been ages since I saw it, but then I rarely drive on public servers.
In a league you shouldn't be seeing it. If you are, then reassess the talent in the league.
As someone said before, there are plenty of touring cars competitions where slightly contacts between racers, happens where ever two cars are fighting. I think that you can't said "then reassess the talent in the league" when they are professional and talented drivers. You can't ignore the buggy collision model just arguing "don't scratch your cars".
Last race, there where collisions like this one: http://jair.lab.fi.uva.es/~dancamp/accidente.zip
which don't have any sense. From a soft lateral contact, one of the cars is shot outwards. Most of this strange behaviors, comes from lateral collisions, and relative high ping magnifys the problem.
There are tricks to avoid this programming, even with lag (many other games do), and I'm sure Scawen knows how to fix it, probably finishing the collision model he started.
Many times I've though that a scripting system to config qualify related things, would be very useful.
For example, an admin who wants to set 3 qualify rounds with descalifications (like F1), or wants to select a specific race start order specified on a txt file (list of user names), becouse the qualifying run was done the day before.
This scripting system could be used to allow racers to config their pit stops, setting things like pre-set how many pit stops we will do, and specific variables for each one. This variables could include:
-Maximum time to expend on repair
-Minimum damage to start repairing
-Order on which the parts will be repaired
-Change a specific tyre
-etc.
LFS is probably very close to what you had in mind when started this project a few years ago, and is easy to get tired or lazy at this point, and search for new things to do...but please, keep on working on LFS, no mather how slow the developing goes. This game is the one who keeps me playing
pricorde, I love your game! I'm a "Screamer 4x4" fan, and your game transmits the same fun, freedom and realism It would be great to see this game finished, I will buy it for sure
How is it that the Spanish league gets over 100 participants each time it seems, and the uk league can only get <20 :/. Not that i have joined it, but i probably would if it was as successful as the spanish equivalent.
joshdifabio our league didn't started with 100 racers, if people would have thinked like you, we have never reached that number Look this link: http://www.lfs-spain.net/modul ... to=Liga%2012-2003/04-2004
Only 11 were racing there, and were racing on servers created by themselves of 6 players maximum. As time went by, leagues has become bigger and bigger, and now we have many servers allowing 20 players each.
A very well done webpage and nice people around, has helpped a lot ^^
A fast post to say that finally I've been able to process the replay I posted, just changing <DisplayIngameMessages>true</DisplayIngameMessages> to false
Hi, your app is really great, but I can't get it to work with almost all replays from our legue. I don't know why, but just after the "Race started" message, it just say "Race Ended". Some replays with less racers works perfect, so I think that there is some kind of bug. It happens with both 1.33 and 1.34 versions.
Below is a link to one of the replays that doesn't work: http://www.savefile.com/files/8231200
