And which do you prefer to use? I understand the rules and will follow them but all I've stated is there are features that can be enabled to help 56K users when browsing. I've also seen much larger images posted on here so I'm pretty sure it's not just my images bringing this forum crashing to its knees. As stated, I'll follow the rules but get used to the fact that folk have opinions - which is all I was voicing.
Tweaker, my remarks were never "at" you and the guy that pi$$ed me off was the one who said coming from the US, I should understand English - and followed that insult with "nice skins". I don't think I attacked you, if I did, please accept my appologies. I did rant on about the features of VB which would help the 56K population and still allow the full features of VB to be used by folk with faster connections but my statements are true. I run several VB boards and have done the same with a couple of my users.
My last remark about large images was made in jest, I'm sarcastic and actually from the UK - not the US so that might explain my skewed sense of humour.
Tweaker, it's all good - if not blown out of proportion some so again, accept my appologies for the missunderstanding.
I did see that the other day, looking at my profile...
Edit: Well, I've got my b'day in there and all and there's nothing I think I've done to cause it. I did post some large images a while back, maybe THAT's it. LOL Now where did I park that DeLorean....
That is true - at which point my images are hosted here and not on my own space. This is not a dig at anyone here but as folk are pointing this out, there are features built into vBulletin (and other forums) that anyone with a slow connection can enable. These features include hiding signature images, inline images, avatars etc. so there is no real reason for the folk with fast connections to limp along at 56K technology. vBulletin is a solid board and supports this kind of community easily - I've had no slow experiences with this site at all so the self imposed restrictions seem somewhat scewed if it's for "56K friendly" reasons only.
This skin is based on the 1991 787 Mazda race car. It's a Le Mans style car so the skin isn't exactly made for saloon cars so skinning this was interesting. The white dotted lines took a long time to get lined up and I had to use some pretty interesting techniques to get them half way acceptable.
I was fully intent on making the full set available as a ZIP file regardless. You can get it from HERE ... or you could try browsing my downloads section and you may find it yourself!
Matrixi, nice skin! I do have a technical question for you. I was going to do a similar skin to yours but couldn't acheive a satisfactory "brushed edge" effect you have with the silver paint work. How did you do those?
