Quote from DragonCommando :That is correct.
What I mean is that I have never seen a completely stock vehicle run at more than 10lbs

Like I said: Smart Roadster, 1.0 bar = 14+ psi in stock!

Smart is running the Smart Roadster with up to 1.0bar.

Remapping it, will allow it to run with up to 1.3-1.4 bar continously until redline. Maximum it can do is about 1.7bar (depending on weather conditions etc). The problem with small turbos is not that they are braking the exhaust gases that much. The bigger problem is that they are simply not able to deliver and compress more air at very high rpms. The extremly fast exhaust gases will cause the turbo to over-rev. Of course this only happens to engines with a ECU remap and of course they are running outside of their specs..

What many manufacturers are doing these days (on petrol cars) is to use small turbos on small engines (downsizing). Using big turbos is not really being done on "normal" street cars since big turbos cause big lags and modern small turbos are (combined with direct injection etc) very effective.

Not to mention that small turbos in use today can rev up to 250.000 - 300.000rpm!

//Edit:
Quote :If they intend it to do 12psi and it doesn't stay there to redline there is something wrong. That turbo is running above its intended max speed.

That's the point.

The stock turbo for an engine might drop pressure, but only because the map is defined to do so (e.g. to keep a clean torque line). Everything else means that the turbo is running to fast or there could be another problem (like cracks in the exhaust manifold etc).

Thanks mates. Of course I know of the host file as well the other option. What I really need is a way to get the list of allowed cars via InSim, since - for my needs - no direct access to the server running LFS may be possible.

So I think I really need to strip down the feature set in that case
Get list of allowed cars/tracks via InSim?

There's finally a new (small) update. I now released version 0.8.6 which adds the possibility to display offline users as well if you define this in your config.

To do this update to the latest version (see first page for download link at sourceforge) and add the following line to your config:

$showOffline = true;

LFS WebControl is alive!

Hi all,

just to let you all know: LFS WebControl is still (or better: again) alive. After more than one year of silence we are suddenly back.

Now we are back in business and the process is going well. Last weekend I rewrote a lot of the core and added lots of functionality. Our plans are to be in alpha-state at the beginning of August.

Our current pre-alpha state will hopefully be ready for stabilization at 10th of July.

Fortunately our InSim implementation still works good since the InSim specification has no more changed in the past. This is good for us and we hope we'll be able to release a first version this year.

Also our project infrastructure has grown. We are using Sourceforge now only for hosting the sources, downloads and mailing lists. A project page has been set up at devjavu ( http://lfswebcontrol.devjavu.com ) where we have trac system for tickets regarding issues, feature reqeuest etc as well as a wiki. You are welcome to open new tickets and tell us your feature requests! At this page you will also find a roadmap of our release and later on there will be the documentation of this project.

We also would like to refer to our forum at http://lfswebcontrol.gjl-network.net

We know, there has already been one but it was required to reinstall it.

If you would like to receive our mailing lists follow this link: https://sourceforge.net/mailar ... name=lfswebcontrol-public

Yepp, there's a lot of information spread on many different sites, but we'll put that all together on our http://lfswebcontrol.devjavu.com page so that this will be your contact point.

Feel free to register for our mailing lists and forums and be sure that we enjoin every kind of support and helpful suggestions!

Best regards,
VorTeX / Sebastian

Today I continued the work on LFSWC. My feeling says the process is going well

@Dygear: if you are interested in joining our Dev Team, contact me via jabber or icq and we'll see what we can do. Currently I'm concentrating on re-building the infrastructure and getting rid of some ugly code

Hi everyone,

I am the developer of the sourceforge project LFS WebControl. A long time there was no process as I was very very busy and didn't had the continuing interest in LFS. No I have more time again and will continue to work on this project soon.

So I'll promise there WILL be a version. Hopefully already this year. But as I love this project too much, I won't let it die silently!

Hi all! An update for the LFS World ServerScript to support the pubstats for 0.5Y will follow soon.
As I don't still play LFS that much (time ), I didn't really care about these projects. But, as I said: an update will follow soon within the next 1 or 2 weeks.

Ok, I have one problem running the server on my dedi:

If I put more than 32 connection, lfs server crashes after some seconds with an error "Out of bounds max connections" (or something similar).

When I do 32 connections and 32 cars, the server starts up fine, but after a while I get a red message inside the server window: "BLANK : OVERFLOW - host".

What does it mean?

Oh my god :/ Franky...

Well, I actually had downloaded the dedicated server, but for some reason re-copying the files to the servers fixed the problem -.- Oh my f.... god, am I that stupid?

Ok, thanks a lot to all of you for kicking my brain's ass

Yes tried that also, because I thought of a similar problem.. But does not make any effect.

Nope, my box is running in the same config since the last Windows update. And even after that the old V servers worked fine...

This is getting really strange...

Well, I surely changed nothing in my configuration

Of course I need to say, they are running native on a Windows 2003 server.

Here is one of my setup.cfg. The others look the same

Yes, there isn't even a base-driver installed.. Anyways it worked before the patch

@felplacerad: Nope, this value is also set..
Server fails to start on my Root
VorTeX3k

Ok guys, maybe someone else has this problem?

I just installed the new W version and since then I can no more start my LFS servers. Always interrupting the start-up with the message "Probable error in graphics driver".

I found some topics describing to update graphics-driver and so on. BUT: it is a dedicated root server. It has of course no graphics driver and I don't even want to install specific drivers.

And of course a "dedicated" server version should not complain about any graphics setting on a server. So, someone has a solution for this?

Glad you have it now and thanks for your tipps, too.

Hope you like the script

Maybe try to set up a FileZilla ftp server. It will be set up on port 21 by default. Tell it to use the path of your LFS server as the default path. Afterwards you have to configure your router according to that.

Then edit the config file of my script according to that changes (FTP, Username, Password, Path)

Well I cannot even access the URL you posted ( http://theohbrothers-lfs.no-ip.org/ ), so I don't wonder that the script won't work.

My browser is loading and loading (Firefox - Network timeout) and a ping won't pass through, too (see below). So the script itself has the same problem and gets a timout.

PING theohbrothers-lfs.no-ip.org (xx.xx.xx.xx): 56 data bytes
--- theohbrothers-lfs.no-ip.org ping statistics ---
114 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

So the problem seems to be somewhere in your setup (Router, DNS...)

Sorry for my late delay. Didn't looked at the forums for a while.

I guess your ISP denies URL access for PHP's file (fopen, fread etc) functions.

Please open your server.php file and go to the line 166:

$datei[$c] = @fopen($filepath[$c], r);

change it to

$datei[$c] = fopen($filepath[$c], r);

Save the file and try again. You should now receive an error. Please post back with the exact error message.
