Conflicted with LFS level system

I'm really conflicted about LFS level system. On the one hand I can appreciate the server/admin not allowing inexperienced drivers from potentially ruining races for the more experienced ones.
In my case though, it represents a rather frustrating and 'vicious' cycle.
I have not run LFS very much since my initial purchase years ago because every time I click to join an online session, it tells me I don't have enough points to do so. I can only spectate. I don't want to do that.
As a very respectful sim racer (I obey blue flags, no ramming etc...)
I'm then forced to exit that session, then log into another....driving some under-powered and rather boring econobox.
That session holds my interest for all of about one minute before I log off completely and boot up RACE07, GTR2, rFactor or NKP.
The end result is I never 'level' to a higher rank and the cycle continues all over again. I wish there were some way to unlock all cars for offline only racing against the AI...even if a verification tool limited their use online to a players actual rank.
As good as LFS2 is...and what little I've seen is good, it really represents a waste of money in my case.

Quote from rc10racer :What we need is new tracks then cars IMHO, it's been since s2 launch (Jun 25th, 2005) since we have had proper new tracks (discounting the ones with just a new corner).

I've thought the same thing recently. After running the demo for quite some time, I went ahead and purchased LFS S2. I have not run it very much since those first few days. It is a great sim, but something is missing....tracks. It's quite boring to run on those flat, life-less tracks all the time. I want something akin to SPA or the Nordschleife....not just Blackwwod. I also absolutely hate the interface. It's too busy.

Welcome... All the wheels mentioned are great candidates. The G25 is very nice. I just wish the leather grip was thicker. I just got mine last week after waiting for years for a price drop. The work load is significantly increased...just by adding that clutch pedal and shifter. Expect to be a lot slower initially, but you won't be disappointed with either choice.

My first post in this forum. I recently bought S1&2 after playing with the demo off and on. The patch installation was 'super' easy and I can now see more than just a hand-full of sessions. Still finding my way around LFS but it's great.
