well i am really satisfied with my 3850, it plays crysis on 1280x720 on high with about 30fps. the cpu is at stock at 3.0ghz and the gpu is overclocked in catalyst to core:700 and the memory at 730. my psu is 650w without a brandname . it came with the case.

now i am running a HD 3850 with an aftermarket cooler and a E6850 with a stock cooler on a Asrock 4core 1333 e-sata 2 (or something like that) motherboard.
and what i wanted to ask is, if it is neccesary to overclock my cpu and gpu. i mean, will i see any performance increases in games, i am especially interested in Crysis, I play that alot.
if you could give me any suggestions: should or should i not overclock and how far can i go without blowing something up.
would be very gratefull.

so basicly what the problem is, they aren't working any more on XP it was all ok, all of the speakers worked with no problems. I installed Vista a week ago, then only the sub, fron right and front left speakers worked, still fine. now none of the speakers work. I think it could be a software issue or something with the drivers or whatever, but not with the speakers themselwes. I was surfing arround in the control panel and i think i messed something up there a bit.
any suggestions on what to do? would be very thankfull for any kind of help, cause i'm just dying without music

so i just got Vista installed on my pc. everything works great and i like it very much, but the only thing that bothers me is DX10, because i can't find updates for it anywhere have google'd it many times, but don't know if its a real one or somekind of fake or virus.
so basicly my question is, would someone be so kind and maybe post a link from where i could get a working DX10 for Vista Ultimate 32bit. thank you already

T.J. , how exactly did you brake your'e mouse like that? seems unreal I recently broke my G15 by filling it up with about 1 litre of Sprite (by accident, ofcourse) but the lcd work's just fine

nop, the card doesn't go over 40 degrees C on idle and 60 degrees C on full load. it has an aftermarket cooler on it as well

ok, so I installed the latest drivers, messed around with the settings a bit and i seem to have resolved the problem, but now there's a new one in crysis, warhead, crysis wars - when i play it, theres a green line ( very noticeable ) around the bottom and the right side of the screen. green line is when i play night maps, and a black line when i play daylyght maps. and the line fills about 10% of the screen.

updated the driver, but still, no change

so here's what seem to be the problem-when i'm playing games, let's say i want a little better picture quality, so i turn on AA, obviously. but the problems start there. when i turn AA on, nothing really happens. i can set the AA as high as I want, the quality doesn't improve and the fps stay's the same too. even on crysis, i can set the AA to 8x, but nothing happens. and in a few games i get really poor quality shadows, like for NFS for example. the edges of the shadows are basicly just lines, there is no shape to the shadow. so maybe there's someone who could help out with this? would really appreciate it
btw, the graphics card is an ATi HD 3850 512mb

You should try maximizing CoD WaW by pressing ctrl+alt+delete ingame, then right clicking on the game and pressing maximize. It worked for me, my fps in game increased amazingly.

I had one too, it's very weak. Bought a 3850, huge improvement in games.

I don't really want to buy a gpu from another country. friends have been telling bad things about buying stuff from other countries.
ok, so in the place where i will buy the graphics card, they offered me a HD 3850 for a cheaper price than the 9600 GT. maybe I should buy the 3850? considering, that I have a crossfire mobo, maybe slip in another one in a year or so.

where I live, you can'y get a 4850 for less tan 200$ anywhere. can bearly get money together for a 9600gt. in our country everything is very expensive

i agree, that the 8600gt is a piece of crap. never buy it, i agree with cobra, you should wait for some new cards to come out.

so i decided to upgrade from my 8600gt 512mb ddr2 to something more powerfull. im ready to spend around 150$ (im on a tight budget)
rest of the PC specs:
CPU-Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0ghz
4gb 800mhz ram
1x500gb HDD and 1x80GB HDD (from the old PC)
Asrock mobo (don't know the model, but has served me well for more than a year now without any problems)
and a 650W PSU
so im waiting for any suggestions on something in the 150$ price range
and the last question : will i see a big or a very small improvement in games if I get a better GPU?
