I am looking to create a batch file to start all my LFS servers at once, currently I have to start them all manually, then run LFSlapper for each one ....
I have been driving mostly FBM BL1 , and could never get into the 1.14's until today. I made some modifications to a setup someone sent me and the balance improved for me greatly.
I have noticed however that when racing, after about half a lap, puffs of smoke appear in my mirror. It appears to be coming from the right hand side of the car. Don't think it is particularly slowing me down but, but is there something in the setup I should be looking at ??
Think I found a problem with the FBM in the kit v2. I have rendered it several times as per the instuctions but it keeps giving problem with the small strip of glass in front of the steering wheel. Instead of being translucent it comes out a solid white colour.
I have attached a render to let you see. Anyone any idea how to fix this ??
Thanks for the quick reply - I will update the relevent sections. Question 2 however wasn't exactly what I was having trouble with, but it is very useful to know anyway.
I wanted to know how to configure this section properly ........ Particulary how do I generate, and where do i place a .flt file ??
Have been running a demo server for a few weeks for testing, but just installed LFSlapper and pitboard today. Most things seem to be working ok, but I have a few questions .....
1) What do I do to get LFSlapper to default to a drive through penalty or stop/go for speeding in the pit lane ?? At present it warns then autokicks..I couldn't work it out.
2) How do i configure the qualusers section ?? I see it needs to point to a file. What generates this file ? Where is it? and how do I point to it.
3) The pitboard (v1.31) is working well for me, but how do I default to the low position ? It always starts high and I have to change it in !config. Also when I do change it from high to low, the darker black backgorund is missing until I complete a lap. Is this a bug or normal ?
Think that is it so far, I am not too good a this ! I did manage to create a nice welcome message myself though
This thread is a real laugh !! I have been driving LFS for about a week or so now. Started with Grid, then a few days of GTR, then LFS. LFS is by far the best, and most realistic driving experience !
everything now working fine. I specified my local IP address and was able to connect over LAN, and I could see the server name in the Host list. My friends couldn't connect though, and just timed out. Had to change the port to 29339 to get them to connect.
Wow - just back after a few days, and there are loads of replies. You guys are, great !! Thanks for the time spent writing replies. From what I can see I have been turning in and trying to downshift in the corner, but most seem to think I should have slowed and downshifted completely before I turn.
I do think it is also setup dependant. I downloaded a setup for the Blackwod track and found it much easier to control.
All in all I need a LOT more practise, and I take the point of driving the slower cars first. The speed of the BF1 is just so impressive though, I find them very exhilerating to drive.
DoC_uk - I will take you up on your offer for a setup !
Is the dedicated LFS server only for use on a local netowrk, or can it be accessed from the internet ??
I was having trouble getting people to join any of my hosted games, despite having the correct router ports open and was going to try the local server instead.
SilverArrows77 - thanks I think it is probably engine braking that is my problem, because I downshift the revs go up and I loose the back end. I will look at that.
Rdcranno - I have found those websites already, and was already using one of the setups. May be they are too advanced for me and I should start with the default ?? what do you think ??
I am complete newbie to this game, just bought it earlier in the week. First of all I think it is awesome with my G25 !!!
I have been practising with the BF1 car on the Aston National circuit, and went online yesterday for the first time. My quickest laps are around 1.29 mark, about 6 seconds slower than most other people
I think I am loosing most of the time in the slow corners, I just don't know what I am doing wrong. I am very prone to loosing the back end at the slow corner and spinning off.
e.g. at the first sharp left hander at Aston (AS3) I am approaching the corner on the right hand side in 7th. I brake hard (left foot) and quickly shift down to 3rd, slow to speed for corner (right foot off accelerator) and try to turn and hit the apex, then change down to 2nd for the rest of the corner in low revs. If I touch the accelerator at all I loose the back end, if I change down to 1st I always loose it. It just feels like I am going dead slow stop around these corners and can never really hit the line that I want with any sort of confidence and without the confidence to accelerate.
