Ever since I got one of the patches (don't remember which), the interior gfx detail seems to be crappier or something seems to be missing anyway. Something tells me a gfx setting was changed with an update, but I can't figure it out.
I seem to recall reading on here of someone else having the same problem. Can anyone help me out?
I first stumbled onto LFS 0.1 demo (or something like that) around September 2002. I found the official website by chance and thought it was some sort of Need for Speed mod, but it wasn't. I found it pretty decent, I think I only played single player though.
Then later in 2003, throughout all of 2003, I played LFS demo online every so often, always trying to lower my time in the XRT on BL1, I had managed 1:28.8 or something like that (good at the time, WR was like 1:26.9). Then in January 2004, I decided to buy S1. I got it and I was very impressed with it and never looked back. Ever since then I play LFS every so often. When S2 came out, I waited about 2-3 months before getting it, then I jumped into the FOX when I got it and was blown away.
Lfsworld doesnt work either. Interestingly enough I can still ping them both, but I guess that the domain is up, but the webserver application itself or whatever is down.
Ok I was interested to see if anyone else have this problem. Glad to know it's not just me. Hopefully will be up soon. I am itching for some FOX action.
Am I the only one with this problem tonight or is there anyone else? THe site liveforspeed.net times out for me and the Master Server doesn't work either. I am from Canada by the way. I am asking because I've never had this problem before.
It's a nice setup but it would be super expensive and only be useful for a very small number of games and require insane power.
In my case, I have a 24" Dell LCD with 1920x1200 resolution. I wouldn't settle for anything less than 2 more of those, so that would be around another $1400 USD for 2 more And then there's coping with the resolution of 3x1920 x1200 with AA and AF. Ya rite.
That doesn't matter to me. I'm just looking for something to replicate V8 sound. Some of the sound packs for the FZ50 replicate Ferrari's which either have V8s or V12s.
Maybe a n00b question. I am looking to edit the sound of either FXO or FZ50 to sound like a V8. More specifically, like the one in the V8 Interceptor in the movie Mad Max. I am wondering if anyone has attempted this.
Judging from this forum, I can download the edited "sounds" that other people have made for a specific car. Has anyone ever tried to replicate a V8 (or even better, the Mad Max car? though I guess that's probably too specific and nobody's probably tried it).
Thanks for any response. Just looking for some info.
No one? I have an FZ50 and FXO on the CLC server. If anyone could port one of the two XRR skins to either FZ50 or FXO, I'd really really really appreciate it.
I'm still surprised that LFS hasn't gotten more and more popular. It's way better than all the other sims. So what if it doesn't real cars and tracks, at least they're enjoyable.
The way I see it (and I have rFactor and GTR 2 and GT Legends and so on and so forth), the special thing about LFS is how easy and simple it is to get online. Make a player (name, info so on), then just get online with S2, you've got servers with different cars to choose from and you just jump in. There's very few lag problems, it's got great online code, good community to race with. It's nowhere near as simple (or as enjoyable for that matter) to get GTR 2 or rFactor online.
But I guess other people feel different about that.
Here are the two XRR skins. Credit goes to someone else, I found it on this board (or maybe it was RSCnet?) through a google search. If someone could port these over to FXO or maybe FZ50, I'd really appreciate it (i dont know how to do it myself).
I'm playing on the CLC servers you see. Thanks for the XRT one, unfortunately I dont have a XRT on that server at the moment.
Yes I thought about when nobody is around, that would be a problem so you need the game system to take care of this situation. And about my connection, let's be serious here, it can happen to anyone. I could time out even if I was using 500servers' connection. Fact of the matter is, it's not my own fault I got disconnected. I understand you want to make the game so that you fear to drive an expensive car and such. However, in real life, your car doesn't just disappear suddenly when driving on the road and if someone crashes into you in real life, you have insurance (relating to if say some noob crashes into you into a barrier and you lose your car for example, lotta money lost there).
Anyway, I didn't know admins can't do anything about it. I naturally assumed they can access extra money from the bank with a command like !pay username xxxx but I guess I was wrong.
Anyway, it is good to know that at least you're trying to fix this with the next CLC.
These servers are fun. However I don't like that admins are pardon my language a55holes and don't give a refund if say people time out and lose a ridiculous amount of cash. I just worked hard for the past few hours only to time out for some reason and I know for a fact it's not my connection, it's the server's issue, and I lost about 7000+ money since my FXO was sold. This is pretty harsh and because of this I won't be playing on this server anymore, it's just too annoying to lose all that work if some noob crashes really hard into me and it's like "player didn't finish" and teleports me to pits or I time out somehow or so on.
I have no problem with being fined if you crash by yourself and such. However when it's blatantly obvious that you timed out and it's really not my fault now is it I was just cruising along and there's an admin on the server (in my case sccc|cropsy), and they refuse to do anything about it, that just pisses me off and I'm sure it pisses off other people too that they can't get a refund for the money lost. I read a few pages back that the server has no way of differentiating between people quitting or whatnot. I think it would be obvious if someone was trying to cheat by say quitting during a cop chase. But when it's obvious and it says "Player timed out" or whatever and they weren't in any incident (I wasn't anyway..), shouldn't somebody who admins or moderates the server give a refund for all that lost money?
I think the push to pass feature which is found in A1GP and ChampCar I believe would be an interesting feature, maybe in S3? Would have to a server-side option so that admin can choose whether to have this or not, and maybe choose the number of push to pass. This feature should only be available on something like the FO8 though (and maybe the FOX). Then again maybe it wouldn't be such a good feature.
