I would like to see some option for combined axis users that enables blip, be it driving help or ability to use both axis and the button assigned to throttle at the same time. I don't really mind how it would work, but some way to operate throttle with single axis under braking would be nice. But I can live without it if that's not possible.

As for throttle cut, if you can apply throttle you can also stop applying throttle. So every one with any imaginable controller should be able to cut the throttle manually, making the removal automatic throttle cut justified in my opinion.

Yes. There are these seven car type values which can be found easily. Displacement, power, weight, gears, cylinders, redline and drivetrain (rwd, fwd, awd). But editing those affects cars in a single group rather than each car independently. Like if you find the values that edit FXO's displacement for example, you'll find it changes displacement of all cars in TBO class. Not 100% sure but I think the change affected LFR cars too. Finding values like how to change only RAC into awd or how to change BF1 engine into inline for example, would be almost impossible without any clever approach like what Kegetys has done.

Quote from Shotglass :
not after lfs is loaded ... decrypting them all the time whenever theyre needed would be utter madness

What I meant that the three demo cars use similar values for same actions, like 12&13 for the turbo on-off toggle or 1-3 for the engine type. I think the "encrypted" cars use different numbers to toggle those things and it would be nearly impossible lottery to try to find them with simply trying every value one by one.

Quote from Rooble :Someone care to explain what the encrypted data is? Is everyone talking about the licenced car variables?

Because these variables/values are plain to see..

Values like turbo on/off toggle, tire dimensions, engine type (inline, flat, V), suspension type (macperson, trailing arm etc), powerband and so on. Those are all encrypted stuff I think. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You should do one just like this but with the three devs!

Couldn't resist.

I'd have use for a better card too. After all those hours wasted on playing solitaire (even it is a bit too graphically intensive when shuffling cards) I think my radeon 9800 pro is ready to retire from service.

Anyone else got sound crackling like this? Seems to be worst in the FXR and BF1.

EDIT: Recording and then encoding the sound to mp3 changed the sound a bit, it sounds even worse in-game.

I downloaded this before it was removed and I can confirm that the hotlaps go OOS when this is used. It didn't have all the features of mechanic or lfstweak but it works in same way as those.

LFS never had any "realism options" which is fantastic, and this one would be just that. This is the way cars work and has to be the same for everyone.

Well actually it has. Quite lots of them actually. Virtual mirrors, virtual speedometer, virtual start lights, reset button, other driving views besides cockpit, having roof up or down doesn't affect LX cars (and now after the latest physics update it doesn't have any effect on uf1000 either), ability to hide driver hands and steering wheel, control methods other than steering wheel (keyboard, mouse, joystick, gamepad) etc etc. The complete list would be quite long. And that's the way it should be too. Afterall LFS is just a computer game. Overkill in the terms of realism would make playing the game more like work than fun.

Anyway I just wanted to ask if it was possible to have an option and I don't want to sound like that this speedo option is just as important than keyboard and mouse control support or ability to reset car. I thought that more options would equal as more happy players. I can live with the new speedo just fine and in the end it's the devs who decide what options to include. Finding every little non-realistic aspect of the game and removing them drive most of the people off in my opinion.

This speedometer question is just a very small minor thing. May the devs decide either way, LFS will be THE car simulator for me and probably to many other people as well.

The reason I'd like to have the old style speedometer option is that I like to drive rallycross with the high powered rwd cars a lot. It looks a bit annoying when the digital speedometer bounces beatween 0-150 km/h all the time in lx6 or raceabout. Looks cool with the analog speedometer though, but using analog is a bit useless because you need a microscope to see the numbers on it when using km/h scale.

Would it be possible to get an option to choose beatween the old actual car speed speedometer and the new driveshaft speed speedometer?

Quote from vladimir :you could enable grooved slicks in S1 already with the tweak-tool...

You could simply choose grooved slicks from pits for mrt5 in S1. No need for lfs tweak or any other third-party program.

Quote from Batterypark :I have a black momo as well, but I don't use it for LFS - believe me, I've tried a lot, but I just can't get used to it in LFS.

In RBR, the wheel feels pretty good and I'm much faster there than with my joystick. In LFS, it's the opposite.

Exactly same here. I have Microsoft FF joystick and DFP. I use the joystick in LFS, because I'm faster with it and I also find controlling the car much easier/comfortable with it than with wheel. But in RBR it's the opposite, wheel feels better in it than joystick.
