Yes that would work, but I think I'll just wire the Thrustmaster pedals to a joystick plug, then I can use both sets to have a clutch pedal if I want it. That will be easier as well, and no need to take the Logitech pedals apart in case of any warranty claims. The Thrustmaster pedals have a PS2 plug so it'll be easy to make up an adapter to connect them to the joystick port.

Thanks for the suggestions anyway.

At the mo I'm drawn towards solution 2. It would be easy to do and would be tidier than leaving the old wheel just lying around on the floor - and I wouldn't need the drivers installed, the pedals would just look like a 2-axis joystick. And I could still use the crappy Logitech pedals as a clutch if I want to. I can't believe how nasty they are, even after reading all the posts about them. I looked into getting some 3rd party pedals, but they're all silly money. My old Thrustmaster wheel wasn't expensive (about £40 I think) but the pedals, clamp and buttons/paddles are just so much better made than the Logitech. It's odd they sell a nice wheel with such shitty pedals I would happily pay an extra £10 or £20 for decent pedals and switches, but not £150+ for third-party pedals.

Anyway, drifting off-topic... I think I'll make an adaptor to plug the Thrustmaster pedals into the joystick port
Convert Thrustmaster pedals to work with DFP?

I've been using my Thrustmaster 360 non-FF wheel for years, but recently decided I want to give FF a try (it was pretty much a gimick when I bought the 360, but now people are saying they can't live without it). I've bought a Logitech DFP and am quite happy with most of it (but I think it'll take time to get used to the FF!)

However, as I suspected, some parts of it are a bit of a downgrade. The gear paddles are just bendy plastic rather than proper hinged paddles, the clamp to hold it to the table is nowhere near as secure and the pedals are rubbish (short travel and far too weak springs). The wheel itself is nice though.

So... I'm tempted to try to adapt the Thrustmaster pedals to work with the DFP. There are three options I can think of:
1. Just leave the whole Thrustmaster wheel plugged in and use its pedals.
2. Wire the pedals up to a joystick plug and use the gameport.
3. Make up an adaptor to connect the Thrustmaster pedals to the DFP.

Option 1 is easiest but messy. Option 2 would work, but will I then need to leave the DFP pedals connected, or will it be happy without them (I haven't tried)? Option 3 would be the tidiest solution if the pots are a suitable value for the DFP to work with. Has anybody tried connecting Thrustmaster pedals to the Logitech wheels? Anybody know the pinouts?

Thinking about it, option 2 (connect the pedals to the gameport) might be a nice solution, so I can use the DFP throttle as a clutch pedal, but that's not really that much use in racing sims anyway and it would mean two sets of pedals on the floor all the time.
