Thanks for the update Scawen! I guess this also means that there will be no "full" May progress report.

Take your time. I actually like that you guys are not limiting yourself and do what you want to do.

I already thought that SC will take long to update, especially when looking at the quality of the previously presented track updates. I guess Fern Bay may also take long due to the size of it.

I did not start LFS and race it seriously for a long time now, but at this point it just does not matter to me how long it will take. I will just return and race when it's ready, that's it. Smile

Quote from bishtop :The a.c statistics page is total nonsense, it said earlier today that 2000+ racers were online, but you check with no set filters theres is at most 200, i know that some could be on a server that for whatever reason we cannot reach but still doubt it would be 2000 racers on there

According to LFSW my average encounters that i race with multiple times is 1228 per month

Are you sure this statistic is about racers who are online as in connected to a server and not just "ingame"? Would make more sense and I think there are even more offline racers than online racers in AC due to all the mods...

Quote from Big Daddy :After reading your post I must say that I now realized that the new graphics have a pinky tone. Especially in old/new comparison it is visible:

But this pinky colorization should be removed.

Somehow I'm pretty sure that's just due to the sun angle.

I think once the graphics update is out, the active userbase will slightly increase. The "big" hit will only come after the physics update.

Quote from MacedoSTI :or make customizable same assetto corsa
with tracks and cars made by player

This won't happen for a long time but this is the wrong thread for this.

However, as long as the original content is fun and looks good, it's not THAT necessary.

Just beautiful.
In my opinion, once the cars have the same level of detail, LFS will be on par with other current gen SIMs (only talking about visuals here).

I really like what Eric is doing to the tracks. Looking forward to try LFS again on the future when those GFX updates are done.

Did you guys even read this part of his post?
Quote :[...]so i 100% made sure i had all 0.6B VOBs in my folder[...]

But just as Whiskey said: Try a fresh install. Just extract another fresh lfs copy into a new directory and try it. If it does work, your old installation still contains modded files.

Since you have access to all skins and carmodels in the s2 viewer, it should'nt be a problem as long as you're not going to post an ingame screenshot but one from the viewer.

Uh... didn't bob say, such a program has to check if there's a S2 licence available on the computer? So why do you worry about demo users having access to S2 content?

As Bob an many other said, they can get access by cracks... :/
So I don't see the point here...

S2 isn't even done yet.

Why are you using FRAPS to display the FPS? LFS is already doing this... oO

Quote :*STEP ONE*
Upon loading select a server to view, servers will only be listed if A) The server owner has configured their server for LFS World relaying and B) the server has cars on it.

I don't even get a list of servers... the window just stays black. oO

Quote from Mihajlo :As I said, is it possible to run LFS from memory stick?
unpack it on comp1 and run it on comp2 or compN

It is, but only in demo mode. It's not possible to copy a licensed version from comp1 to compN.

Quote from XCNuse :i'm pretty sure everything anyone says (unless a major bug) wont make it into patch V3.... pretty positive scawen already knows what he wants in patch V3

It's about Patch W, not Testpatch V3...

Quote from DaveWS :Basically what I'm asking, is if anyone is willing to try them all out, and tell me if any of them are an improvement.

I think:
* 12 is best on XRT
* 5/23 best on GTRs (I'm using 5)

didn't test other cars...

Oh my... was this thread really necessary?
It wasn't me who "wrecked" EmiliO, but no one really did. That just was racing, those incidents happen from time to time. It's like poking someone an running to your mother... it wasn't as bad as he think it is. And on top, he just annoying and didn't want to stop to write "noob!".

An accident can happen from time to time, but this is no reason to send a replay to wreckers barricade... that's just... childish behaviour.

Quote from Cue-Ball :The road texture looks really, really good. But the pavement in the pits looks odd. It looks like the stones that make up the pavement are as big as boulders. I'm not sure why the two look so different, but the first two pictures look GREAT!

Eric mapped the pits like this, textures are the same exept of the brightness.
Have to look if it's the same with the Ky GP Long Pits... I can only change this if it's also wrong there.

And thx!

Ever thought about the tyres? XFR and UFR won't win against some rwd since the tyres last longer... may work in short races, but not with longruns...

I just use the same colors now, all other ways looked ugly... I'll post the updated pack this night or tomorrow...

Thanks, I'll try to fix this too.

/edit:
@Android: Could be that there's the real end of the texture, then it's possible to try something I have in mind..

Quote from axus :Those look quite a bit better... one more issue now, why is the dark tarmac soooo much darker than the light tarmac? Looks a bit odd IMO... apart from that, now they look good.

The two different texture sets or just the different parts on the track?

Quote from axus :The default textures are sharper than your current ones IMO... those you posted pictures of are now are way too sharp indeed but now you've gone the other way...

I guess you just mean those white spots in the texture... if not, I don't really know why you think they look sharper then mine...

But I'll try to do something about this...

/edit:
Quote from alco64 :Just a little request though. Could you make seperate downloadable files for the light and dark version. I'm on 56k (i know i know, ADSL next week FINALLY) and 14mb i just cbf downloading lol. If that could be arranged then sweet and thanks

I've ADSL, but I can only upload with 24kb/s... that's still slow... I'll only do that if I update the pack.

/edit2:
@axus: Please try these textures: http://octrin.brainsware.org/kyotoreworked/kyoto_sharp1.rar

Quote from axus :Your asphalt textures (all over the track) bug me. They're not sharp enough... Otherwise nice work.. especially the curbs.

Not sharp enough?! If mine aren't sharp enough, what do you think about the default textures? Do you see them as just one color without any contrast? o______O

More people said my textures were too sharp while I was working on aston... it would look more like gravel if I make the texture any sharper... I think you're someone who rather want something like this? -> http://octrin.brainsware.org/aston_edit/3.jpg

Sry, but you have to do it yourself if you want something like this.

/edit: Oh and ever noticed that you can't see the single "stones" in the tarmac while watching tv? o_O
