I know the feeling, my 2.0 TDI also needs topping up ever so often !

If not than you shouldn't be reading this, that's why I added it
and also why one of the criteria is enough to produce a match !
But whether it's just the two of us or a lot more people doens't really make a difference, lfs wil always be fun !

PRO Racing is a belgian (flemish) team, heavily supporting Audi quattro's.

Audi Quattro S1 / HB International
Does anyone know HB international ?
Appearantly it was one of the main sponsors for the Audi Quattro S1 rally car.

I agree with you Becky,
It's everybody's responsibility to get through the corner.
The race is never won in the first corner alone, but all to often it is lost !
Just look at a real (F1) race, even if the car in front of you is slower but you cannot get close enough to pass it then though luck !
Problem is that in a real race if you smash into someone you ruin your race, you have the risk of serious injury and if it happens to often you could lose your seat ! (Or your super license)
In LFS you just press shift-S and everything is fine again.
Don't get me wrong I have also caused accidents but I always try to drive clean. Give other drivers the space they need etc.
I'd rather lose a position knowing that I drove fair than to end my, and other peoples, race due to an accident.

1 : I know that the idea is not complete and needs a lot of thought before it can be released.
And indeed to determine whose fault it is can be tricky, but maybe an average of wrecks / driven miles or something like that to adjust the penalty. So less miles + more wrecks means more 'bad points' than vice versa.
2 : I was aware of the other thread but made another as the idea/suggestion is quite different.
3 : re the fact that you lose the benefit after you have acumulated enough points. This is a valid point but if you make the effort big enough to get these points this wouldn't be important. I don't see someone investing 6 months in getting enough points just to lose them again.
An other option is that when you start a server you could limit the players that can connect based on a minimum amount of points.
That way everybody can use all cars but not on all servers.
PS : is the wrecker is doing it intentionally or not is not relevant for me.

Anti wrecker Idea
Just a thought I had recently ... but why not use the points (that aren't used anymore) as a anti wrecker tool.
You need x amount to points to unlock a car.
This means that you have to practise and win with the slow cars first.
You gain points for winning races BUT you lose points for causing accidents.
Example :
Let's say you need 5k to unlock the sauber and you have 5050 points.
You join an online race with the F1 car, you crash 6 times during that race, taking out 12 other cars so you would loose 120 points.
This would inhibit you from joining another race with that car until you have earned enough points again.
