You are generally aware of the car behind far before the blue flag warning, either from looking at the map (Which indicates by colour if the person is a lap ahead!) or by using your mirrors.
This gives you plenty of time to get out of the way and let them past without losing too much time yourself. I find a good meathod is to brake a tiny bit earlier and turn into the apex a bit later. That way you can still carry speed and they can get by without bother.
If you are on a straight, there really is no reason to have a problem, if you have time, move over. If not, they will find a way past you!
Its difficult enough to simulate a car, simulating the human body is far more difficult, where would it stop if you were to try that? adding a 0.1sec delay in steering and pedal inputs to compensate for the gloves/soles of the boots?
Screen blacks out every few secs to simulate blinking?
I think sticking to the cars would be best put a helmet on if you want to simulate it
I hadnt thought about people on night shifts sgt.flippy. I understand that it would be upsetting for them.
I doubt the majority of the people complaining are working nights though like you say, they just wanted somewhere cheap and tried to solve the problem later.
I have a fairly busy road outside my window, with double glazing, even the busses barely make a whisper, my dad builds kit cars round the back of our house and the glazing blocked out a V6 Rover engine with only the manifolds attached, so these people could invest the money they saved in high quality double glazing and everyone would be happy
id agree that tiff needell and jason plato would have a more accurate opinion on the driveability of the cars . . . but if you are watching tv to help you choose your car you are doing something wrong!
TV is there for entertainment, Top gear is entertainment with cars! Whats better? Its a shame that busybodies attack it despite the fact it is enjoyed by many people, i hardly think the chaps at top gear are using the track constantly, and when they do it is usually in the daytime, when the people complaining are probably at work.
The first complaint probably came from someone bored on their day off work
Vain, it was me that you collided with when you got flipped, we were all bunched up and all on the brakes, as i tried to move right i tapped you and you went flying! Sorry about that, I was doing my best to not touch anyone but I just caught your right rear. Shame it lagged a tiny bit and launched you.
You were a good sport about it and just got on with re joining the race though . Nice one on that
I went for 2 stops thinking everyone else was doing the same, everyone was one stopping though so i had 25secs to make up for the extra slot! I was 7th and on for a 6th place even with another stop to go, but my pc crashed
Turns out i have a bad stick of ram, so that will be sorted and I will definately be joining you all for the next one!
Whilst it is one of the very few things i watch on TV at the moment, If they dont have permission they should stop. There are race tracks all over the place being hassled for their noise levels by residents who moved in a few months earlier and this cant help their case.
Hello all - I've been doing alot of moaning about driving standards at the moment, so i decided to take some time out and do something useful!
I used to download the files from Team Inferno's setup field and rename them myself individually, but with the setup pack being 1 click away on there now its too much of a chore in comparison. So i have decided to list what name relates to what. I hope some of you find it useful. I just have ithis list sat next to my desk, if i change track, just one glance and you have a good base setup without renaming them all as you download!

The higher the number of the set (e.g Name1548 or Name1684) the faster the quickest lap done with that set is.
You forgot something, it is absoloutly no fun whatsoever!
This isnt just reactionary, i didnt get the moneyback as i felt should give it a fair chance, and i have.
The menus are annoying, the configuration is annoying. You would feel more like you were driving round in a car if you rolled down a hill on an office chair. It is truly terrible.
I have extracted far more fun out of NetKar which is massively unfinished compared to rfactor. and comparing rfactor to lfs just doesnt bare thinking about.
I suppose the customisation is a plus, but the fact that the many mods i have tried just arent fun to drive and dont feel realistic in any sense, it defeats the point.
In the past I have seen threads like this and said "stop whining, you were just unfortunate and encountered a few morons" but now you are right.
I find you get about 3 clean laps at most before someone does something completely moronic or deliberate to take you out or spoil your race in some way. I got into LFS due to the fact i could get home, turn on the pc, load up and be away racing against 15-20 like minded people.
now its about 8 likeminded people and a bunch of wreckers with licences.
Its such a shame, minority ruining it for the majority as usual. These people cant be reasoned with on the server, one incident involved alot of people telling someone they were lagging, when i suggested stopping any downloads etc I suddenly discovered that this man had a problem with my mother, for whatever reason.
In contrast, NetKar is more like LFS used to be at the moment.

Something needs to be done, otherwise new racers will log in, get wrecked, and log off and then vent on the forum about how their £24 has been wasted. Which is obviously terrible. Grab these people where it hurts, confine them to the demo servers for 2 weeks as a punishement, they will soon calm down.
As an add on to the idea above - why not gauge the level of experience by average lap times over alot of tracks, something like GPLRank (sorry if this idea has already been said!!) that way, oval only racers wont rack up quick miles and it would encourage people to try different tracks. maybe guage it by the lap record on each track or some other solid benchmark
