Does this application work on Version 0.6. I am building a sim cockpit and I would definitely install a 7 inch Monitor behind my wheel to use this awesome application!!!!!
Thing about rFactor is that its very customizeable (infinite combinations), and there are some great mods with great physics and matched with that a friendly open atmostphere that I just don't feel with LFS anymore. iRacing is great but is sooo expensive, buy content PLUS have to pay subscription, but this guarantees content updates
I got my fanatec gt3rs kit with Clubsport pedals, sequential and gate shifter.
The wheel goes off center to the left, sometimes after just one lap and I'm not jerking the wheel around either. the 3 button reset is bogus and the wheel is completely not useable. If i keep racing with it it will eventually be stuck so far left that I will be unable to even take a left turn.
The pedals have 2 problems for me... the brakes are always on about 5%, and you have to make a 5% deadzone. I never had this problem with my old junk Momo racing wheel. The throttle will blip out to 100% randomly, and will not stop even when I unplug the power and plug it back in or exit game and unplug plugin in pedals (yes I've checked if invert axis was enabled)
I've tried all the patches, drivers and things suggested And my support ticket has been in for 1.5 months and still no response!
don't buy, LFS is underdeveloped, old with direct x8.0, a bad sound engine where regular style mp3 types would be more suitable.
You can get past all this, but LFS is dwindling, the amount of arseholes running servers now are insane and making it way to serious. Theres very little fun to be had. I personally don't even play lfs anymore, go try iracing, rfactor or one of the simbin games.
Does anyone have the FZ5 prokit? If you do please post here so I can PM you with my email... I am not great at skinning but am skinner for my team, can anyone help? the new masterskinnerz website still doesn't host the pro kits.
Development is very poor, they won't allow user created content to naturally flourish the game... look at how frickin huge rfactor is. They won't allow 2048 x 2048 texture download only 512 (is this the year 2000?).
Whats hurting LFS most is these new EXCLUSIVE Noob Check and PB checking/kicking scripts. Excluding NEW players, I finally convinced my friend to buy S2, and hes continously alienated by these servers, so much so hes gone back to playing rFactor.
Not to mention they can't get a model released, they get assistance from VW with the Scirocco and its been a full year but still can't get it released? car was promised to s2 players? BUT now it may be S3? what is this shit
So Basically, still DX8, no shaders same lfs pretty much, why buy?
Unneeded hassle with script to make numpad keys remap or bind to Function keys, major letdown by LFS programmers, just include a damn remapping option.
Wound up using Auto-hotkey, very simple just to include it in an .bat to run auto-hotkey and lfs together. scripting is easier also... and its FREEWARE check it out forum seekers who may be searching for this same topic
Using the keyboard while playing is very troublesome, and to hit commands like Shift+F keys or f-lock + another button is very annoying, i just don't have the room to setup my keyboard AND my wheel. Is there a way to remap these functions and HUD displays to another key.
In rfactor and other sims where almost everything is mappable, i map all the functions and hud to a usb NUMPAD that i have stuck to the center of my wheel. This should be possible for LFS shouldn't it? How stuck up would anyone be over allowability to map simple keyboard controls.
Check out the Logitech Driving Force GT, it is compatible with Windows with their latest drivers.
-Pros
-Maximum Turning of 900 degrees same as g25/27, and can be limited by gaming software
- lots of buttons
- they keep getting cheaper in some spots they are an equal price to the MOMO racing, if not the same price they are only 30-40 dollars more expensive.
-Good forcefeedback better than momo
- has helical gearing mesh for way smoother operation than the momo, even smoother than the g25
- Cons
- it has the momo racings same style of pedals, they however are very durable, i haven't worn them out yet.
Do some research on it, the DFGT is definitely the better wheel. I have been using the MOMO Racing (black) for quite some time, it has alot of play and knocking and after a while the Forcefeedback just stopped working.
I was having the same problem on my momo before my Forcefeedback totally burnt out, i love forceback and always have it set to 200 in lfs and full in profiler. I noticed that after a while the ffb wasn't responding like it should and I was starting to make errors in my driving, as I almost completely rely on the wheel to find out where the rear of the car is at. everytime i started LFS i would have good ffb, but it would eventually go to the point where it was non existant, eventually it totaly failed.
I hope that they arn't so bad. Fanatec has padded alot of pockets promoting their products, so you can't trust anybody for an unbiased decision or opinion. Seen alot of bad videos and some good ones. I posted a message to them asking about shipping costs for my region and it took them 2 weeks to reply. It is just to bad they are so far away, so I can't stick it up their ass if it breaks on me.
Newfoundland... Futureshop price on g25 is 379.99 plus 13% sales tax, plus shipping to me, 400km and only option is courier(same day right way- the only courier).
Turns out 25 bucks total for shipping from fanatec, should have mine in few more days.
As most Canadians are aware, we are horribly ripped off on the G25/G27 wheels, the g25s alone are $500, if you factor in sale tax and shipping (400km from nearest city)
I am looking at the porsche gt3rs, wheel and the price is suitable... but the shipping rate is confusing after tormenting the people at Canada Post about it, they seem to indicate (they arn't certain) that for every 0.5lbs of product they will charge you $25?
Making the shipping on this item, horrendous.
Give me some feedback if possible on the shipping costs/fees you had for your fanatec wheel.
I have scoured the forums and cannot find the Guiness BF1 Skin, i saw it a couple months ago but now cannot find it again! Someone must have seen this!
Scour: is a verb meaning to search thoroughly. Thankyou for your rude reply.
