So what should have happened if I was on my first lap being timed? I had a blue flag, but that was going into multiple turns, and he tried to pass me in like the 3rd turn.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to see, just like everywhere, there are going to be some jerks and ones who think everyone should do exactly what they think when they think. This guy wasn't so bad, he just made a comment and that was it.

I assume you mean that if it was outlap then it shouldn't have been a problem for me to stop?

Alright so here's a question. I was in the qualification stage in an FZ50 only server, we were racing Kyoto Long. I was on my first lap, and I'm still a noob so was going slower than most. I get the blue flag warning as someone comes up behind me. We were going through the few turns before eventually getting to the large oval area. It was before the long left turn, so there were a few sharper turns, I figured he wouldn't try to pass me. We are going into an almost 90 degree right turn, with a bunch of sand on the left, he tried to pass me on the right side, touches my car and spins off into the sand on the left... goes to the pits and says "heeeeeey why did you bump me? blue flag"

I understand to let people by that are ahead of you, but does that mean that I have to literally pull over and stop for them to go by? I thought they could pass and I could slow down when it was safe, not around moderately difficult corners. I'm asking if I am correct in my understanding or wrong, because I'm looking to learn from this whatever the case was.

And like everybody else has basically said, sorry, nobodies telling you how to live your life, and sorry you've been offended, but they're not giving you something for free. Even if you say you'll work, you have to offer something to give, not just say "I'll work". When you went to McDonalds did you even ask for an application? Have you passed your resume out to every store and business around your area?

BTW I've played through Crysis and Warhead.

Well when I was younger I played GT2. But it was an awesome technique to go too fast into a corner and use the AI cars as a wall around to get by them and keep your speed up. It worked great!

I think there are just a lot of people who are new and just like in real driving, forget to look around sometimes. I know I've done it a couple times, forget to check left of me before drifting over and *bump*.

But it's pretty lame if someone intentionally rams you. That's okay for Gran Turismo or Need for Speed, but it's definitely not cool in LFS.

I'll have to try hanging back a little bit maybe, although I am still a newbie, so there's a good chance I won't be able to catch up, lol.

I'm not winning any races, but I figure if I can at least finish the race with my car in decent shape I'm at least in the right direction.

Meh, I was in that server a few days ago, there were some jerks, not FM guys though. I didn't get kicked but was told I should leave because I was 10 seconds behind everyone. *shrug* I understand how some old timers can be upset with newbies, but I wasn't causing any crashes or even holding anyone up really, I know what a blue flag is and obey it.

I agree though Driver 8, it doesn't send out a good message to us newer guys when there are people like that in the server, but oh well, what can you do.

And yeah, I have been taken out of a race a couple times as well because of someone hitting me in the back, I go off, they go on their merry way. It sucks because you're trying to survive turn 1 by not being taken out by anyone in the middle, but taken out anyways

Put a little time into learning GIMP and you should be able to add all that to that body kit no problem
