You are missing the point completely. This ain't a whining thread about development time or something like that. I am just showing how communication is done in another forum. Nothing more, nothing less. Please read before you post your comment. This is why threads gets closed.
Is it so difficult to stay on topic? If this is the course this forum is going we are lost.
I always thought LFS had a great community. And I definately met them on the track. But it seems that only kids visit the forums.
Maybe I should just stay on the track and leave 'this community' to what it is.
I am not saying anything about the development speed. I am talking about communications. Like I said in my first post. The dev of the wargame is doing it all by himself.
I thank Scawen for this game/sim because it's one of the best racing sims I have seen so far. That doesn't mean there aren't area's for improvement.
And I think we should be able to discuss that without flaming, cursing and name calling although that can be very difficult for some people.
You are missing the point. Read the other forum please and this thread before we start it over again.
BTW If Scawen says there is nothing to write about that means he hasn't done anything. And I don't believe that.
I will not shut up. If you don't like this thread don't follow it.
Why am I called a whiner now? I am only showing how certain things are handled in an other forum. I think you need to grow up/cool down.
The dev on the other forum wrote in his last report he did not make any progress on the game because he was changing his hardware and software. So there was no progress on the game but I take it as news.
Why should I get a infraction? This is a forum and I want to make a point here. What would be the place then to discuss this kind of things? Or should I keep my mouth shut because you don't want to hear about it?
It clearly shows this is a hot topic lately. And it keeps you busy too because you are answering in this thread.
Have your read the forum of the wargame? That shows that even with in fact no progress he writes a report. I check that site every month for the progress/info even though I know it can still take a year.
I don't say Scawen should write reports to please the whiners.
But with reports there is little whining.
People are in the dark now. Some people don't race because they are waiting for the patch. Because when it arrives it will probably change the game so there is little to gain to train with the current physics.
Inspire him to make reports ofcourse. And 5 years aint much if he really wants to finish the sim (although it is fun as it is now and the reasons you tell).
And why should not we expect reports? The wargame I was talking about is not even finished yet. It is smart of that dev because people keep coming back to the forum and show him their support. Most people here only whine. Which isn't very good for the ambiance here and not very contructive for Scawen. I want the patch too but I can wait. Though I would like to know how long I have to wait.
BTW people. Keep it on topic please and no whining. Please behave like adults. Thank you.
I know ... Don't burn me right away.
Because the latest thread was closed and Scawen says he isn't monitoring his own thread anymore I just want to show how another (lonely) developer is doing monthly updates. He has been spending his last 12 years making a wargame.
The Fanatec website says you can download additional plugins for the led display and ffb brake motor in the support section.
I can't find it anywhere. Are there even plugins for LFS?
I can try and mail Fanatec but they haven't answered any mail from me.
I just received my GT3 RS Clubsport wheel and I would like to know if the two additional ffb motors in the wheel and the brake ffb motor are gonna receive support. It would really immerse me more in the game.
Looks very interesting. Since the qualifying is a day before the race is the race on Sundays? And what time?
One weekend in every month I have to work on Saturdays till 19.00 gmt and on Sundays till 18.00 gmt. I hope the race will be later than 18.00 gmt. And if not qualified will I be able to race?
If it fits my schedule I would really want to join.
Good point.
I did some races at FE and the curbs are really heavy on the car.
I try to ease on my suspension but the loss of time is to big. It's more rewarding trashing your suspension and get it repaired (in longer races).
BTW
I did not notice any difference driving with a half damaged suspension.
Should not be the handling of the car much more difficult?
I am new to LFS and just starting to race online. I mean trying to race online.
After 20 seconds I get disconnected with the announcement: Lost connection to host.
It has happened with several servers and I had a ping under 25ms with all of them. Spectating was not a problem though.
