Thanks guys GenR always left a good impression on me and although I wasn't necessarily looking to return to a team in LFS, rather just some guestraces, this seemed an opportunity too good to pass.
Me joining Genuine Racing doesn't affect the agreements I made beforehand with other teams about the GT1WS, by the way.
First of all, thanks for this nice effort to bring some proper GTR-racing back to day-to-day LFS-racing.
I agree with Rudi here, you guys should try running regular restrictions. Even if people have the skills to adapt their setups, I think most don't want to put in the effort of doing it to drive on a server that is mostly empty to begin with. Besides, to me personally as a relatively experienced GTR-driver, it's totally unattractive to have to do races in GT3-spec to be able to race a regular GTR-race later on.
You're mostly fishing from the same pool of drivers as those that are driving on cargame and the AMG/AS3-server, plus those that are driving GTAL/IGTC/MoE/etc. So in my opinion, to make it easily accessible and attractive to those drivers, it would be best to make the server unrestricted GTR/NGT as GT2 is already available on cargame. In this spec, the rookies will generally keep out of the GTR-action both in class and on track (on longer tracks GTR's normally won't lap NGT's in a 15-minute race), and the NGT-class seems to be quite popular among GTR-drivers as well. I know this is being done already, but what the heck
If the server proves to be popular and the threshold to be promoted to GTR-class isn't too high, I'd gladly drive a couple of races in an UFR, anyway.
Typo indeed, forgive me for my noobness. what I meant to say is that I don't like the XRG and XFG. I have edited my previous post, sorry for the inconvenience
I couldn't resist to chuckle at the responses, though
After a month or 3 of playing the demo, I decided I like LFS enough to buy S2, so now I'm looking for a decent team to join and do some good (league-)races with. I don't have any computer skills which would benefit a team, but I am a clean and decent simracer with loads of past simracing experience, mainly from GPL and N2003. I also intend to create (and share) my own setups as I did with GPL and N2003, so that may be useful.
What kind of team are you looking for: race
Age: 24
Country: Netherlands
Preferred Car/Track: almost anything, I don't like the XRG/XFG though
Average Laptime on Your Preferred Car/Track: Over 5 lap races with the FBM at BGP I'm able to do fairly consistent 1:12's, with a PB of 1:12.48
How Active Are You: almost daily
What Kind of Control do you use: my TM F430 FF recently broke, so nothing at the moment. I'm considering my options but it's probably going to be a Logitech Driving Force GT
Thank you for the useful tips! I know there is a kart/dirtbike shop within a reasonable distance, so I'll try there first thing next morning. Should they be unable to provide me with a sollution, I will macgyver myself a couple of springs (some spare ones would never hurt).
When the pedal's fixed, I'll post what I did, so hopefully other people can also benefit from the info.
Yesterday one of the throttle return springs on my TM F430 FFB pedals broke. Since the warrantee-period is over, I instantly grabbed a screwdriver and started dismantling the pedals. I found out one spring is completely broken, and the other is already cracking (in the same place).
This morning I went to several DIY-shops, bicycle-shops and car-shops but none could provide me with new springs of similar/equal shape and size. Now I e-mailed Thrustmaster to ask what's possible, but to be honoust I'm looking to get the pedal fixed before this weekend, because I was planning on competing in a league-event next Sunday.
Soon-to-be-S2-licensed new player here Just wanted to say 'hi', and maybe I'll get to meet some of you on the track! I'm planning to start competing in a league soon.
Oh yeah, some background info on me: I'm 24 y/o. I like cars, bikes, cigars and scotch, and I'm able to twist the top segment of my thumb about 90 degrees backwards. Not that the last bit matters, but it makes the post longer.
