Byebye!
I will always remember the moments i had in this game.. mostly demo v0.5/S1 days for me as i was not around much since the last 3 years...
Thanks everyone for all these nice races! =)
And a big thanks to PaulC2K and Viper and also mr Jones for managing the team, even when motivation was very low!, and congrats to all our drivers for winning so many events! =)
Yea, but i wonder if its possible to simulate it by lowering the overall sound when a louder car pass by, kinda like flashbangs in counterstrike and games like that (overall sound dissapear and replaced by ringing in the ears sound..)
i think the sounds of most car are now good, not perfect but alot better than they were at least! The only problem is the one you just said, a BF1 that passes your XFG just makes a silent sound, when it should really scream! I went to the F1 race here at gilles villeneuve circuit in montreal a year ago, and 1/4 of the people were wearing earplugs. When they passed in front you could feel the vibration in your stomach!
Right now the BF1 makes about the same noise as the UF1 when ur sitting in the middle of a straight and listen to it passing by, it should actually be 15 times louder
Formula 1 700hp = 147dB
normal road car at loudest level WOT under load i beleive is around 100dB
I guess it isnt really possible to implement it like in real life tho, since people driving the XFG would have their speakers at high level to hear their engine and then suddently a BF1 passes and you wake up everyone in the house.. But im sure there is something that could be done!
Is there such a real life tweak for turbo's IRL and would it be used in any race car?
Yes, turbo cars from the factory sometimes has lower boost in 1st and even sometimes 2nd gear so that traction stay decent under WOT...
The Dodge SRT4 runs 8psi max (i think? or its 5psi) on 1st gear
its controlled by the ECU... and 13-15psi on other gears..
Just that if lfs had proper physics, wheelspin would actually be slower than traction but its not right now so theres actually no benefit, i dont think... Ever saw a FWD car like the FXO on a drag race doing a 50feet burnout to have optimum traction? i dont think so ;\
i agree lfs has got better in some ways, but id rather have no patch and only progress reports to inform me that important stuff is being worked on...
seriously i dont even know what im talking about maybe they are working on important stuff, but what i know is that they arent telling us if they are.. so if they are not, i gotta assume that the last 6 month were dedicated on low-priority features.
Dont get me wrong, im grateful for dev's work, the game is still great, but the future seems blurred, while other games like iracing are getting closer and promising, and the last thing i would like to hear when its released is that its superior to LFS in physics by alot...

altho its offtopic...
i totally agree on that ;\
out of focus must be it..
i'd trade the 200's small fixes done since patch U for just 4-5 more important ones,
like trying to make the car class closer in performance..
fixing the clutch pack LSD wierd behavior under braking (engine rev dropping?)
working on the clutch realism... (yea since the G25 will be used by alot of ppl).. oh and engine stalling maybe plz?
anything else that could benefit on physics, sounds, graphics... (game immersion i guess)
i think its been often discussed that the turbo doesnt acts properly too..
im glad scawen talked about at least trying to make some sounds improvements... i still see hope somehow..
i dont think comparing locked diff R/C cars to real cars with locked diff is a good thing.. the R/C car is so light that a wheel turning too slow/fast to the other one will just make it slide a little, and for a real car with alot of weight on wheels, i do think like others said, that the car will tend to jump a little at least at low speeds, and have very heavy handling...
i only think FXO should get more weight and maybe smaller tire size..
it would be impossible to have the 3 cars always equal on every tracks
but right now FXO is the clear winner...
i also agree that the turbos do have a bit too much lag for the size they should be (2L with around 230-250hp should be a rather small turbo)
so my suggestion
-add weight to fxo to limit its cornering grip / and acceleration
-smaller tires if its still not fair..
-add some power to RB4 till it can match fxo and gtt high speed..
-fix whatever is wrong in the code that makes ANY totally locked diff better than limited diffs...
