Quote from Macels :How long exactly have you been playing to get times in the 1:33s? Wish I could break 1:35

Well, I've been playing in different, "sessions", I believe this is my third time I pick up this game, and also this is the time when it got most serious. So Basically, it took around 10 laps or so for me to get the feel of the game/car again before I did high 35's (but then I had been playing the game before did 34's back then). That was a week ago or so, I did my first 1.33(.97) 3 days ago.

But since I remembered the braking points etc it was pretty easy to get down to those speeds again . Though I knew before that getting better times than I do now would be really hard, and I thought when making this thread that there might be something new that I have to learn or whatever to get better times. When I did my current pb, 1.33.46, I think it was the first time when I thought I did a perfect lap - I couldn't see what I could improve, even if there's always something that you can improve - which got me stuck.

But just keep at it and you'll get there too! (if that's your wish)

Well, I guess, I've gotten down to the 1.33's pretty fast since I have driven only the XFG, not mixed cars alot, which I guess you do as a s2 user . Though I'll see what I do, either continue with the XFG until I can get s2, or I'll start racing with the XR(G or T).

I'll also see if there's a way for me to get s2, w/out having to have a credit card, I think I'll check it out tomorrow, now that would be heaven for me! And my parents are too afraid to use their cc's on the internet, you know how it can be I guess, I'm not going to try to convince them, but I may be able to transfer money to a paypal account to pay with that in some way.

Thanks for the tips guys!

Quote from tomylee :the WR is 1:32.940 so whats the point, u are damn good. change the car

The point to me would be to be able to race, the guys that are constantly doing 1.33.40's~ if they get a clear lap . And there's 2 (3) cars to choose from in the demo. Well I could race with the XRT for a while I guess..
How can I improve? (XFG)

Hi! I'm currently only a demo racer - and I will be until I can get a credit card (a couple of months left ). I'm currently doing around 1.33.80 average. I did a pretty good lap to be me in the replay - though that's only better since then I probably drove at my best . I wish to know where I lose my time!

I know 1.33.52 is quite a good time, though while I wait for s2 I want to get even better. Is there some new technique I have to start using to get better lap times? Do I need to use that heel-toe braking? Or anything else that I'm not aware of? Any tips is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I raced it on a couple of times to, a wrecker all of the times, one came back all the time. Once when I was in the lead your wrecking mod even made me a wrecker and pitted me, because he was standing in the first corner and was blocking me. :/

Imo Fusion is the cleanest server by far

Quote from deggis :Most of the people seem to be specializing themselves with the F08 & Oval.

Seriously are you joking? I mean oval how fun does that sound? Weel I guess that's not my problem

This sure sounds more and more like I just have to find a way to pay . Well again, thx for all replies, maybe I'll buy it before I turn 18 so I can get a credit card, or maybe not anyway I will buy it. I hope to see you guys on the track sometimes in the future!

Quote from mrodgers :I'll give you a never-has-been-done poll on wheels used.

Logitech DFP - 45%

Logitech Momo racing - 47%

Other - 8%

I think that if the pole would ever be done, that would pretty much sum it up. I think I did a poll at NAL before and found that Momo had a slight edge over the DFP.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the DFP is the better wheel but it's also more expensive. I'm currently using a momo racing, and I'm very happy with it. For some I know there may be some problems with the pedals. Nothing I've experienced but I know some people who have.

Quote from herki :Paypal could work for you - though I don't really know, if you have to be 18

First, thx for all replies guys, you've really been getting me to think, and to understand that there are so much more than just "racing to win", quite hard to see on the demo servers, well I sure have been having a couple of really nice races, but it sounds like it's alot more common, on the s2 servers. Thx for that .

And to the quote - Paypal would work, but I have to be 18, and then I probably will have a credit card anyway. It's sad with the paying methods, not that I know any better way, other than selling a game box in shops or maybe some kind of game card, but I guess that would mean alot of work and money from the game creators.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Well you can specialise in a single car/circuit if you like, and you might win more races doing that, but will you be having more fun just because you're winning?

For me, LFS is the most fun when you're fighting with people who have similar abilities or experience. Whether that fight is in the middle of the pack or up the front doesn't really matter. If you concentrate on a single car and track, you'll probably end up with the majority of drivers unable to keep up with you, and you'll perhaps find one or two other drivers in each server who you can race with.

Ultimately, it's a recreational activity, so you should think more in terms of having fun. Whatever is fun for you, go ahead and do it. There's a lot of different fun things to do in S2

Well then I guess, the demo destroyed my mind , the only fun fights you could have in the demo was the ones about the lead, not because I really care about winning, but because the fights in the middle always resulted in that you got driven off the track . I guess I can learn a new car quite quickly though, wasn't to hard. You guys just gets me to want to buy s2 even more, my big problem is that I don't have a credit card though, that's why I don't have it yet, still only 17 si can't get one either - a shame you can only use UK maestro to pay with .

I guess you're right. But if we say I drive lots of cars/circuits, will I be able to compete with everyone? Since there must be alot of people that race the same car/circtuit most of the time, and they'll be alot better with that car then? Well maybe I'm thinking to much, at least I'm pretty sure I'll buy s2 in the near future
Question about s2 - How do you play it?

Hi, just a couple of quick questions, first of all, atm, I'm only racing in the demo, that means I'm pretty 'specialized' (or whatever you want to call it ) in using one car, and I know much of the track. So when you guys play s2, do you race any car at any circuit? Or do you just specialize on one car and one circuit to be really good at that specific circuit/car.

It really took some time to get good in the blackwood, and to learn to be competitive on all servers, now I'm thinking about s2. But actually the thing that keeps me from it, is the fact that I don't know if I have to learn every track and learn to race good in any car. I really want to aim high, but is it possible when racing different cars, oh I guess you should be able to race at any circuit, but with every car?

Also is there any circuit/car that is a clear favorite over all other, in that case which car is that?

Thx in advance!

Quote from ATHome :That's the point. If they pay him 66% of the money MS costs, he'll still get more money than while driving for McLaren

Ferrarri does not have the same money resource this year compared to 2004, at leaeset i read it . And probly mclaren have quite alot of money to. I personally think it would be a misstake for kimi to go to ferrarri, just look at MS now, well maybe he's not as good as last year but it must have something to do with the car to.
And I think if kimi moves to ferrarri what if mclaren become even better, for example with their reliability and ferrarri continues to be as bad as this year.

And just watch the race kimi did today from 17th to the win why would he change team (well i know about reliability but anyway ferrarri isn't much better this year i guess)?

Hi I'm getting this error "invalid cars option", I want to run a server but if I use the official dedicated server program (dont really know if i done it right) my game doesn't even get on the game list. I have a router and opened the ports in it (if its needed :S).

The easiest would be if i could get dedictrl or dedigui but have anyone else seen this error? Thx for any hints
