coordinates?

Can someone help me understand how the coordinates work in the cfg file? I tried changing the 1st number out of the 4 for something and it shifted it horizontally, so I guess that's the X coordinate. It sure would be nice having some more detail if anyone can help. What are the coordinates in, pixels?

I would like to shift the split times towards the bottum of the screen, and if possible make the text smaller, it's too big and bright and I find it distracting.

On another note, the stats, distance and fuel remaining don't appear to work in single player mode, but work fine when I connect to a server or host my own server, is this normal? Is there a way to get it to work in single player mode?

Many thanks,

Alex
Realistic pitting

I quite like the way some F1 sims from the past handle pitting, I think it would be real nice and add extra realism to LFS if we had the following:

1. Pits stops are either scheduled pre-race or requested during the race, you can't just arrive at the pit any time you like because it takes the pit crew a little while to get ready for you.

2. The pit crew prompts you when it is time to pit or when they are ready for you if an unscheduled pit-stop was requested. A radio call would be nice, but a simple text prompt or flashing icon will do too. It is to easy to forget to pit when battling for position, running out of fuel is the worst way to end a race.

3. An actual pit crew around your pit or at least a lollipop man would make pitting easier and more realistic.

4. A prompt by the lollipop man to engage 1st gear to give us an indication that the pit-stop is almost finished.

That's all I can think of right now, LFS is great otherwise.

Greetings racers!

I'm a Portuguese living in South Africa, though RC flying is my main thing, racing has always been a favorite alternative. Been doing it on the PC since early 90's, and a good bit of RC on-road racing during those years too.

I started off racing with my ch yoke, which made me feel a bit like that dude from night rider, but have long switched to a ff wheel, though I still use my ch rudder peddles as they are the most comfortable peddles ever!

I've only been online racing for the last 3 or so weeks, and have just discovered LFS, but boy am I glad! Was racing NFS Shift online but it's been causing me some aggravation due to all the buffoons, cheaters and rammers, and there are so many of them it's hard to have a good clean race, but then what would you expect with damage disabled?

So far I'm quite impressed with LFS physics and look forward to many clean and fun races, but please be patient with me during the early stages, I'm still getting used to the sim and different cars, and have much learning and setting up to do. Hell, I don't even know how to send a message during a race or what the numbers at the top mean!

Time to explore LFS a bit more.

See you on the race track...
