Quote from Jakg :every time LFS gets updated, everything changes and LFSTweak must basically be re-written, and Fonnybone just can't be bothered, and is waiting for a more "permanent" release.

Plus it only works for the demo cars, so demo racers get something else to stop them getting S2!

Ah ok, thanks for the explanation.

It's been some time since my last visit and I don't understand why LFSTweak won't work with 'U'.

Is 'cheating' the reason why it doesn't work with the latest release?

Intel iMac 17'' with 1.5GB of Ram

I am currently using the keyboard because Apple's Mighty Mouse acts strange while playing and you can't accelerate and brake at the same time because the mouse has so to say only one button.

From my very first post:

I am glad that I finally got rid of it [Windows] and I simply don't want to install it [Windows] (via Bootcamp) just to play one single game.

But don't let us start a Pro-Windows/Pro-Mac discussion here..

FL!P: Singleplayer-mode only.

glyphon: Alright, let me correct my statement:
The problems I have using a resolution of 1440x900 might occur because I am running LFS on top of CrossOver which is still in early beta stage BUT I've installed some other games and they don't have resolution problems... As long as the game itself works, I don't care about the resolution because even an ugly game is better than no game.

Unlocking works, Multiplayer works.
Couldn't test the addons, will do so tomorrow.

Becky Rose: CrossOver itself needs a lot of power.

Good news:
CrossOver (latest beta for Intel Macs) allows to play LFS and I didn't notice any problems except that the car's shadows don't work and that you need to play around with the screen resolution.
My display is set to 1440x900 but LFS has problems with that resolution so I had to change the game's resolution to 800x600 at 32bit.

The performance is good, I get around 42 FPS but I am still playing around with the settings.

Time for me to unlock the demo!
LFS on a Mac without Windows

Hello there!

Some time ago I bought a license and after some time of intense playing I switched over to a brand new Intel iMac.

Because I am still interested in LFS (one of the best racing games ever made!) I am looking for a way to install LFS to my Mac WITHOUT installing Windows. I am glad that I finally got rid of it and I simply don't want to install it (via Bootcamp) just to play one single game.

There's that software called 'CrossOver' which allows you to install Windows software but LFS doesn't have an installer so that wouldn't work.

Are there any known solutions to that problem?

Quote from Lautsprecher[NOR] :and, WHY should LFS itself be changed because of Mechanic? Mechanic is not a part of LFS.

What about reading..?

Even WITHOUT cheating some races are close enough..
WITHOUT cheating means WITHOUT the use of third-party software.

TagForce: A longer strip to finish but that also means a bigger breaking area

Let the flaming commence...
I'll be here doing :munching_

Well, I should haved choosed another smilie

From what I can see there are 2 drag strips - both of the same length.
What's the point of that?

Even without 'cheating' (Iam racing offline online) some races are so close that a longer distance would be much more fun
longer drag strip

We definatly need a longer drag strip..

Iam sick of hitting the wall at 500+ kmh just because there's not enough room to brake

Quote from Alpegnuen :Hi guys .. Here it is, step by step:
Download this file: http://peecee.dk/uploads/stuff/msstdfmt.dll.txt (Right Click and choose Save Destination To, er something like that)
Rename the file to msstdfmt.dll (just remove the .txt at the end)
Copy the file to your system32 folder in your systemdir (Click on Start -> Run -> write: %systemroot% and press enter - on my computer the complete path is C:\WINNT\system32\)
Go to Start -> Run -> Write: regsvr32 msstdfmt.dll and press enter.
If there comes an error, please report ind here

Your application should work now

Working fine here, thanks!!

problems with steering wheel
MrNase
S2 licensed
Hey!

I have an old steering wheel plugged to my computer which I want to use with LFS..

However, it works just perfect apart from one thing: while steering it acts crazy.. There's no smooth movement of the wheels instead they switch to the left and to right right very fast so that I can't do any accurate steering.

Which setting can help me?!
