I try to be a careful racer, so if I join a race midway through I like to leave the pits without getting in peoples way.

It'd be helpful to know where the leading car is to facilitate this.

I'd rather come onto track knowing the leaders have already passed me, rather than having to get a Blue Flag for them within a few hundred yards and the chance of inadvertantly spoiling a good race. It's mostly a minor irritation, really, as I use tab to shift between cars to see where the leaders are on track, but if the leader is marked, or even everybody with their place numbered on map instead of a little triangle, it'd help many people, not just myself.

Installed this patch (U30) a couple of days ago and have a small query/pointer to make.

When screen is loaded (On-line 22 cars, Conedodgers ASNational GTR league) going into a hairpin, say, then it sometimes makes the sound mute. This is the whole system (Audio Properties) gets a check in the Mute All box.

Doesn't do it without the patch. Doesn't do it in any other configuration of LFS. I also run LFS PitSpotter v1.1b but it mutes the sound whether I run Spotter or not.

I run an Athlon 1.4 and a Radeon 9550 card with 512 M system Ram and 256 M Video Ram. (Old system for an old man ... it doesn't keep up properly but works well enough for now)

Gotta say, the update makes track selection a breeze and it's nice to see 'proper' pointers to cars on track.

Hiya all,

Had a little play today and came up with England flags for all cars. Only the MRT doesn't seem to upload properly to LFSDesktop, it keeps thinking there is another skin there already.

Here's a screenshot attachment, if I've done it right, of them in a folder, if anyone wants a skin point me to where I can upload files and I'll be happy to.

I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to uploading etc.

It's very likely that I was one of those who did this yesterday.

First time on FO8, first time on Ovals but, and here's the problem, I use a keyboard and mouse ... so starts are either full throttle or very quick blips of throttle until the car gets going enough to short-shift through the gears. It's not that there's no throttle, just that it's either off or on, which isn't good in a rwd car iof any description

If it was me, you'd also notice I apologised straight away and shift/s'd damn quickly.

When people do this (the bad starting) they might just be trying their damndest to get out of your way rather than trying to cause mayhem or get in your way on purpose.

My wife does race too ... when she does she uses her real name, Juliet. When I race my Race Name is my real name of Paul (UK) and yes, it was me on Annabelles server yesterday. Unfortunately my son also races .. we all use the same licence with different racer names, and we only have the one computer good enough to run LFS (for now) so we've never raced each other yet.

We haven't been racing much on S2, mainly demo servers and BL Rally reversed on Airattack (1:10:94 PB)

We're now starting to race 'properly' so I might see more of you all on-line ... dunno whether to be happy or wary about that ...

Anyway, Becky, I'm 46, married, male, and have two kids a Landrover, god knows how many R/C cars and buggies and ride Trials motorbikes for fun as well as off-roading the Landrover. I'm also an ex sidecar racer, which explains some things.

If you're 18, Swedish, blonde and have a squillion quids then I might be tempted to let you buy me dinner some time ...

My wife paid for my Live For Speed 2 licence, and when paying for it put her name (Juliet) in as the account name. However I race under my real name as Paul (UK). When I race on any S2 track it always gives laptimes as Juliet 1:56 (whatever) instead of Paul (UK) 1:56 ...

What do i need to do to change this?

It seems like I need to buy another account to change the account name, or is there something else I need to do to get servers reporting my driver name properly?

It's only a small thing, but I don't want to continue racing as Juliet 'cos people often get the wrong idea, as you might guess.
