Im sure most of you have read the threads about the new 'force cockpit' feature, and its pretty easy to see that it has divided the LFS community.
My personal view is that increased realism is a good thing. But in reality each driver can adjust his or her driving position - the placement of the seat: up, down, back and forward. As of now, if I want to sit a bit higher for example (and I often do), im forced to use Custom view... and im not talking meters here, but centimeters.
Obviously, according to many comments in various threads, this makes me less 'hardcore', and more 'arcade player'. It annoy the **** out of me that I cant adjust my seat whitout being called names, or almost feel that what im doing is on the border of cheating in some peoples eyes. This isnt realism.
So what I am suggesting is: Let the driver adjust his seat in cockpit view (up, down, back and forward) - after all, its only realistic!

Finaly: sorry for my bad english and for a fantastic sim!

I drive in custom view, see screenshot, and im kinda uneasy about this 'forced cockpit view'... As you can see my view is still a cockpit view, i have only raised the seat a bit to see better. And now im not going to be welcome on some servers? Anybody really think my view is unrealistic enough to sort of 'ban' me? Atleast let people raise or lower their eyes/seats please.

I am using 24bit Z-buffer.
Strange but now it seem to have fixed itself... for the moment atleast. Cross my fingers and hope it stay fixed!

This happens only in one curve, on one track (Kyoto). Restarting LFS or the computer doesn't remove the problem. Can I fix this anyhow? (Please see screenshot)

Hi all
Can anyone tell me how to map a short text message to one of my wheel buttons? Often when racing i get a smiley from other drivers for letting them pass me... (Not very fast myself ) I cant return the smiley cause typing while racing is not an option for me... soooo... is it possible to map a little smiley to one of the buttons on my wheel? And if so - how do I do it? Thanks!
