If you want to race the Skippy series you need, The car, VIR and Infineon. I can't tell how much they are. The price disapears once you buy it. But you 60 should cover that and you should be able to get even more. If I remember corectly I got a lot of stuff with my 60. Remember if you get 6 items or more you get 20% off. The more you buy the cheeper it is.
I have to agree with Hyper. LFS Physics are great and could challege iRacing in the physics department. They are close. But I think iRacing is still ahead atm. Especially on the FFB side and especially after the patch.
Intrepid. I don't blame you for thinking the tracks make no difference. You are driving the car, Solstice , that has the least amount of FFB in the SIM. If you were to say drive the Skippy you would soon realise what we are talking about. The Solstice does not do this sim justice. If you believe the sim is good now, trust us, buy a year and use your 60 iDollar and get everything you need to run the skippy. You will be floored.
BTW you never did mention what it is about the "system" you don't like.
How can you steal your own code? Dave wrote it and used portions of it that still applied. Fixed other things and completly rewrote most of it. Meaning he wrote entierly new code. New physics. Trust me, you uninformed troll, it is not a mod.
You sir couldn't be more uninformed. John Henry spent 20 mil out of his own pocket to fund this project. He has more money than he could ever want. Hes is one of the most pationate sim racers on the planet. This isn't about money for him or Dave K at all. It's about trying to make the most accurate sim possible and try intergrating the sim as a training tool for real drivers. Just look at the announcement and partnership with Star Mazda, the partnership with Riley, Gm etc...
People like you read crap on the forum and believe it. They will be lucky to brake even 5 years from now....Greed, I don't think so.
EDIT: Here is an another tidbit for you. John Heary has 687 posts on the iRacing forums. Asking the user question, having debates with us about how to improve the service. Yup I see only greed in his eyes.
In some places that might work. But at iRacing kicking up a storm so people notice you isn't needed. Susan is awesome as is the hole staff. I have had a few problem and they are dealt with in a timely manner. I haven't read your thoughts yet but by your tone it sounds like you like it. If so then I am glad.
The only place the truck really bounces a lot is Daytona but that's normal. That track is crazy bumpy. More like whoops. There are a couple youtube vids showing how bad the track has gotten over the years. It's going to be deadly the first week with the truck at Daytona. Running side by side bouncing around. Should be fun but I think my SR might take a big hit. Looking forward to the challenge.
Other than that the truck does seem to have a very soft suspension. It has lots of body role with all the default setups at all the tracks. Truck at Martinsville was perticularly fun.
Oh I agree with you there. iRacing is far ahead of the rest of the pack. I just couldn't imagine the flack they would get if the truck sucked. All the nay sayers would rejoyce, those on the fence would fall off and the fanboys would have heart attacks. But lloks good so far after the release. Engine damage was unexpected. Not sure I'm into random damage though. Blocking rules need clarification though. Can't wait to get home and wip out the creditcard then wip around in the truck.
This is a make or brake day for iRacing. If the truck is crap iRacing will dig a hole it can't get out of. But I have confidence in them. So far everything has been really good. I wonder what other updates are going to be in it.
No other series in the world has problems with Full course yellows. The problem is having one pitcrew for two cars. F1 needs to stop trying to be so unique in their rules and start looking at other series for what works.
BTW guys the last track that was released was Sebring. I don't get why people cry when something oval comes out. Of all the resent releases and anouncements things seem fair to me.
Announced.
- Lotus
- Daytona Prototype
- Mosport and Road America
- The three NASCAR cars.
Released
- Bristol
- Sebring
- Milwaukee
I know the biggest outcry is for tintop cars. I am sure it's coming.
Had a really fun race last night in the skippy at Laguna. The highlight was going three wide down the front straight with Barry Blocker, Nim Cross and myself. For three laps we were swaping possitions. Was really intense, clean and great fun.
I know it's been said before but I really do think they are working hard to make open servers. I also believe TinTops are going to be in. Most likely a GM car to start unfortunatly for you euros. But as much as it looks like an American game most people/racers in the States love euro cars and tracks just as much as you guys.
So once iRacing stabilises I am sure you will see them over the pond scanning all your stuff. Like you guys said. Lately we have had, LFS and the GTR series with lots of Euro containt. Be happy you guys are trying out new stuff. Cars and tracks that are new to you.
While I mostly road race I am very happy that NASCAR is coming to iRacing. It means more stability to iRacing. More customers and more money.
I'm loving the skippy at LRP. Had two amazing races there Sunday night. But suddenly I find myself addicted at running pratice sessions at Infineon in the Mazda. Did a qualy and I'm about ready to plung into Mazda racing.
That is why the SR system works. Their are always two cars in a wreck. You always need to think about what you could have done differently. Sometimes there is really nothing you can do. Seems like this time you could have made better choices.
Farcar, while you can't change the seating position you can change the FOV. Hit the [ and ] to change FOV. Also if you are using virtual mirror use between 70-100. Default 135 is to wide.
