Shame you don't have the original packaging, as I move about a lot so generally re box stuff up.
It's a shame one of my clamps on my DFP is broken (I just tie the wheel down with string to race) - otherwise I could give my cousin my DFP and buy this G25.
To be honest, I don't really call that 'drifting' ... That's just letting the back end step out / slide for a moment and straighten back up.
I constantly have arguments with my 'console fanboy' friends who claim Forza 2 and GT5 are the height of realism, and have to take them down a peg or two. End of the day GTR 2 etc, are made to be 'realistic' solely for the formula of cars that are driven in the game, as mentioned the physics can be tweaked, but mainly due to the way the game handles tyres grip levels etc, it just doesn't seem natural and fluid.
LFS is still the most 'realistic' in the sense of the forces / physics behind what is happening, ok it's not 100% real, but it's predictable compared to real life driving and good fun.
I can't believe that? in 1979 someone drew a patent for a Racing sim, with force feedback pedals + wheel and a flat screen monitor? (as the picture shows?)
That's mad, as there wasn't even BBC Basic's with rubbish 2d racing games by then!
I'm a demo racer, who stopped playing LFS demo quite a while ago - Chris persuaded me to get a Wheel and get S2. In 1 day with the UF1's I went from doing 1 min laps, to 55's and then 53.10's and winning the races.
Hope to do the same with every other car / track soon.
I've got some real life track experience, in both front and rear wheel drive cars as well as a past history of go-karting and a dad who raced bikes and cars on track.
Pic of me driving my then, standard 106 gti round donnington. Hope to go back next year now I've made a few changes to my car.
