LFS is (almost) perfect as is, except for AI

Hi guys,

My opinion may be unpopular around here, but I love LFS as it is. I went to AC, RF2, AMS2 (which is great btw), but ive come full circle back to LFS.
It loads instantly, run on old machines, doesnt need TB of storage nor huge updates, and the physics are just perfect to me. I dont literally mean that they ARE perfect, just that to me, its what i want in a sim, predictable, fun to drive (im able to catch the slides most of the time), graphics are outstanding (regarding size vs gpu usage vs modern games), sound engine is top notch etc etc.
In one word, the perfect balance - to me.

Then, I know its an online sim, but i mostly race offline, and the AI is really really lacking.

So im afraid to lose what i love in LFS (with newer versions, tyre physics etc), and end up with just better gfx and a game that is closer in physics to most modern sims, losing its identity and strenghts...while what I miss is "just" a better AI (and i know its hard computer science Wink

Cheers and congrats to the small team for such a great sim !!!

Well, I was expecting rumble on curbs, at least. Thanks anyway.

Quote from MadCatX :If it's really just a rumble effect that your wheel can do, it won't work in LFS. Force feedback in LFS calculates the exact force acting on the front wheels and then models it as a constant force effect. If your wheel has just a set of rumble motors that make the wheel vibrate, it can't simulate such an effect and therefore it doesn't work...

Please read my post, I prefer my Speedwheel over wheel (mainly because I like to play quick sessions).
I already have a wheel thank you

Quote from MadCatX :The wheel probably needs drivers for the force feedback to work.

The drivers are installed, moreover rumble works perfect in "project c.a.r.s." for instance.

How does this mod improve things ?
I don't see/feel any difference (zero vibration here)

Thanks
Speedwheel - Rumble Support

Hi

I'm now using the MS Speedwheel and like it very much (more than wheel).
I'd like to know if there's a way to get rumble support for it ?
Maybe in next lfs version if not ?

Thanks

I use it and it's a great wheel, i don't use ffb anyway so I don't care about that.
It doesn't work properly in lfs here (have to depress button twice to up/down gears, dunno why. Works fine in nascar 2003 for instance.

I have enough unlock keys, its just to bypass the procedure (even if its easy), and after all, better to use no code than one
Its also i always want to know about what do apps install/modify etc

Thanks guys

well, i have a partitionned HD and i dont change anything to the LFS folder.
I did many windows installs, without changing anything to my hardware etc, but always had to unlock each time i did...
So i guess there MUST be something in the registry...
how to bacup unlock data (activation)

hi

i often reinstall windows and id like to know which data would i have to backup, to be able to get my LFS activated, without having to use my activation codes.
Is it some key in the registry or something ?

thanks
