I tried mouse steering and I was all over the place! But I will persevere!! Having said that, I discovered a car in the mods (Panther something or other) which is AWD and fairly easy to handle if you fit it with slicks. You might see me on that chaotic server called Just a Ride from time to time. Not sure about the biplanes, though!!!

Yes, good point. I have been frantically tapping my way round corners for some time. Not smooth at all, just waiting for the car to straighten up before accelerating.

By the way, you can see that I have been playing lfs on and off for a decade, so I am not really a beginner, but with some models I sure feel like one!! 😃😃😃

This may be a stupid question, but here goes...
Why is it that so many cars spin out coming out of a curve?
I can handle the "easy to handle" cars such as FXO/RB4 but I find others very difficult.
I use a keyboard so maybe that doesn't help? Maybe I am just crap? Should I change setups unt I find the right one for me? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I knew it had to be something simple.

You have to manually put your skins in the data/skins file AND THEN they are automatically in the list of available skins as with the default ones.

Still confused!

Go to file/ open, browse to your LFS/data/skins folder and choose a default skin (plain white) for the car you wish to paint. Click Ok.

This seems to be empty on my PC.

Go to www.lfsworld.net log in using your username and password
Double click "my online car skins"
Click browse
Find your jpeg image of the skin (in no more than 1024 x 1024)
Click upload skin
Go online and enjoy everyone seeing your skin (Yes, yes, but how?)

I can upload a skin to LFSWORLD and I can see it in the on-line skins thing. But then what? How do I get it onto my car?

I imagine there's something I'm doing wrong.

I expected it to just become available in the list when you are in the garage.

YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THOSE LAP STATS!

Two stints today: in one it was BL and for some reason I started to pick up race points. It was the track that doesn't have the tricky chicane after turn 1. I must have been under the lap stats time as I managed to get about 24 points.

Suddenly there was a change of track to the SC Chicane and once again I couldn't get below the time for stats - 1 second out - quite frustrating 'cos if you don't get below it in the first 3 laps the speed guys catch you up and then your laps suffer from the Blue Flags.

So basically I was racing around but my points total didn't change.

So then I went SP with the FXO and quite comfortably got laps of 1.21!!

Anyway, that's my gripe over with.

I was Cargame.nl S1 again this morning with XFG in the South City Chicane Route. Well, I managed laps about 2 seconds slower than the lap which gets you into server stats (something like that anyway). I think the lap is 1.31 and I was 1.33/34 also getting blue flagged after about 2 laps!!

I have just been back to the track in SP with my FXO and I'm down to 1.24!!

BUT I suppose I still have to keep on with the XFG in MP.

Just been on it at the moment - FE Club track.
Still outside laptime for stats though!!

I tried Cargame.nl S1 but there's a kind of rank thing so you have to start on XFG or XFG and get points - which I suppose you do by participating.

With other servers, I still get the S1 mode message even though I have unlocked it!

Maybe I should stick with the cars which are available for now and see what happens when I have more laps under my belt.

First off, I'm a newbie so excuse my ignorance.

I have been practising a fair bit with an FXO and a decent setup I got from setupgrid.net. So after deciding to take the plunge into multiplayer I find that a lot of servers don't allow FXO or it says that I have to be in S1 Mode. I have the S1 License but I can't find where I have to go to choose that mode.

Can anybody help out?
