Sunday, 7:20 in the morning ... and all I was thinking was "Let's read about STCC!" ... I got to be really addicted, hardly nerd and completly gone .

By the way, let me add my thanks to Becky and her decision to give the code away, now we can be back on line with the public server with point system again and have a lot of fun!

Yesterday I've met Becky on a FM server, but I avoided to directly say something or just say "Hi Becky", 'couse I thought she only needed to have fun and not think about STCC and so on ... I wasn't noticed already about the new UKCT servers based on the STCC codes, otherwise at least I would say thanks directly.

It's sad that today I have to go to a real track to follow our racers that compete in the Desmo Challenge: so i can't nerderize my self on the new servers!

Wish a good luck to SamH and all the UKCT team for the servers, wish a good luck to Becky for the new projects she's developing, hope to get you all again on line soon!

I can understand Becky's feelings about stress, so I will not ask her to open up STCC, but anyway, is there anyone that has the ability, time and will to open STCC again?

I think I'm not the only one that miss the STCC licence based servers, with map rotation and so on.

Becky gave life to something new and almost perfect in LFS, please, don't let it die!!!

With no disrespect intended the other nearly always full servers (conedodgers, redline etc), they just don't provide the variety that STCC did, and with the plans to introduce single seater servers as well it seemed like a one stop shop for high quality public server racing.

I'd like to thank Becky,Sam and all the others involved for providing the best three months of sim racing fun i've had. All your hard work is certainly appreciated by a lot of people.

I hope the STCC servers will make a comeback in the not to distant future. Life's a little bit emptier without them.

I cant see myself playing a lot of LFS now, but when i do i hope i will come across drivers such as Sparky Dave, Swiss Tony, Lord Blaster, Bravus, Viper(RUS) and all the others i enjoyed such close,clean racing with over these last three months. It's been a pleasure.

Best of luck to Becky with sorting your real life shit out. Always remember the vast majority here are right behind you. f**k all the haters.

No it wasn't you , it was two members of another team, ASR I think, D.O.C. and another one, that also reply with smile to me, after he crashed me.
The first one, DOC, he was faster, (FXO), so it was unfair to pass me in that way, there was no way to stay in front of him ... BUT ... his way to pass made me slow down and I've been get by his m8s ... I was slower on pure speed, but faster lines, after a couple of laps, kicking me was the only way to pass me and they did it. Don't know if it was intentional or not, did not reported only 'couse of that doubt.

Anyway I only hope that newcomers will be more "fair" in the future.

Just yesterday night I had another discussion with some drivers for the same attitude to give a little "push-away" and pass, did not reported, but I quit race 'couse i get angry and then wasn't able to race decently.

By the way, yesterday I was talking with my friend and STCC driver Desmoboss, we were thinking about the fact that Silver&Gold server is the most used: from silver licenced to platinum. There are really lot of drivers and the skill level is really different.
When I was silver liceced, I was really low level skilled, now I'm average, so there is a great difference of skill betwin who's just gained silver and who's platinum.
Perhaps it should be good to change a littlebit and have a "STCC Silver&Gold" and a "STCC Gold&Platinum", with same cars/track, in this way who's already more experienced could race on "Gold&Platinum".

P.S.: Sorry for the crappy english ...

Also in the Silver&Gold server is the same since 10/15 days. Lot of "Wannabeahero" drivers get silver licence and now they are making me really angry with the well known "LamerBasedTecnique": "When there is a turn, use the car in front of you to brake".

I'm considering if I'll continue with STCC 'couse of them: I can't make more reports then races ... we need some admins to quickly solve problems with them. I was admin in my team server, (the FM's Oval Junkies), and there was no need to make long ban or so, just force the lamer on spect, say "Do again this shit and you'll be banned" and they were changing attitude.

By the way ... Live longer and lamer!

For "external" i mean something that is not a driver or OS problem.

It's easy for you that you can write in your own language ...

IF the problem has seen just in LFS is an LFS problem.

At the moment we know that who has this problem, has different system configuration ... different connections ... different OS ... different graphic card ...

I had this problem in S2 licenced server (mostly in Oval Junkies), but also in Demo server (CCUK Demo server for example).

It's NOT a connection or "lag" problem, becouse as I wrote before, FM Oval Junkies and FM Ventrilo server are hosted on the same server, the ping on Ventrilo is almost always 47ms to 63ms (when players talk):

So ... if the ping is good it's not a Ethernet card problem if it was, also the Ventrilo connection should be laggy or falling.

Ok ... the problem is wireless ... but i don't have wireless LAN ... the problem is WindowsXP ... but i have Windows 2000PRO ... uhm ... the problem should be something else than wireless connections and windowsXP or not?

The only solution seems to be a "format c: /q /v" at the moment.

So if the only solution was that format seems to be something like some sort of "external problem" like a trojan and/or virus.

I have the same problem ... latency bars go up ... game works fine ... latency bars freeze on maximum extension then:

1) The latency bar reset to lower level and everything works fine

or

2) I get disconnected.

I have a good ADSL connection fast setted with router (connected with cable not wireless) ... my system is a P4 3.2Ghz - 512Mb RAM - GC Radeon 9600PRO (Catalyst 6.1).

By the way ... that problem i have in Oval Junkies by FM ... i'm always also in Ventrilo server from FM ... placed in the same server of the race server and ping is alway good, so it's not a connection problem but something else than connection status otherwise also ventrilo connection should be affected.

Also i think that implement a server side system to "kick high ping players" should help us all.

I am one of the nubs around ... well actually I think that it could be a good idea to have a sort of "licence" to race with fastest cars and/or to join certain servers.

For example you could have to pass a licence test based on lap time to get to the internet servers and race with other people, once you have completed all the tracks lap time licence (that should NOT a WR time reach ), when a "nub" join a server he knows how to race decently.

Single player can be "open" to every car/circuit ... multiplayer "drive licence" based.

Actually is what i do by my self ... i load a single player race on a "new" track and i start race on it by my self untill i get used to ... then ... i join on line races.

So IMHO :

Join a multiplayer server should be "open" to everyone, but car selection should be "lock" untill you pass a "race licence". In this way "nubs" can watch the races, try to understand lines, speed and so on, but can't really join (and waste) races.

"Race licence" should be fair, not to so hard, not so easy. For example based on "Best of 3 laps" way.

After "X" number of ban from a server with "race licence", you have to do the licence again. (This could be stupid, but I like it ... ).
