its a crt ,
but anyways i turned Vsync on in LFS, and the frame rate is less jumpy. it varies in fps between 60-40fps instead of jumping between 60 or 30fps, much more playable.

forced Vsync was and still is off.

cheers mate
Fixed Frame Rates

I have recently aquired a Xpertvision Radion 2600 HD Sonic and am very happy with the card for the price.

however in lfs, the card will only display at 30, 60 and 120fps, regardless of the reslution and detail levels.
If a part of the track is being rendered at 60fps @ 1280x1024 it will only be rendered at 60fps @ 640x480.

Also when moving from a low detail area to a high detail area (bridge at fern bay) it drops in set incriments, for example, i will be getting 120fps coming down the hill towards the bridge on FE black, but as soon as a small portion of the bridge comes into view, it drops almost instantainously back to 30fps, which is damn irritating, its not a gradual reduction.

never experienced this with my old 9200

This happens at all reslutions and detail levels, AA/AF on or off.
no frame limit or v sync has been activated, nor forced framerate/refresh in CCC.

any ideas on how to deal with this or experiences would be much appreciated.

Digital!!!!!!!

(run Away)

I currently have a D70s, the biggest pile of cr@ptastic junk i ever wasted my money on. I've even tried the canon 5D (5000$AU), and i would use it as a wheel chock if it was given too me.

But then again, i dont use 'film' as we know it. I'm a fan of alternate photographic processes, eheh, nothing quite like getting your hands dirty and stained with chemicals.

sorry, not being very constructive. good luck with the camera mate >evils<

Sidewinder Joystick FFB

i am currently using a Microsoft FFB Pro Sidewinder Joystick as my primary controller for LFS. Due to current physical reasons i cannot use a wheel and its tonnes better than a mouse.

I was wondering if there is any simple way to impliment centerspring tension when FFB is turned on.

atm i dont use ffb, because when i accel/deccel by pulling the stick forward/back i get an increase in pressure the further i push it.

but when i turn ffb on i get the lateral forces (which is great) but i lose the centerspring when i accel/decel, making it very difficult to gauge and control the throttle/brake pressure.

is there any possible way (or program) which can re-introduce this centerspring pressure with ffb on.

i searched the forum but found nothing in regards to this.

cheers

Toribash is a great game/sim much like truck dismount, except you have to contract/expand various joints of a person to injure( or decapitate) the other player within the minimum number of frames

www.toribash.com

Zen bondage is another good free game. You have to try to wrap a rope around various shaped blocks and get 100% coverage. very frustrating, but fun .

anyother games at fun motion are pretty good too, most of them are free

Quote from neglouseight :Also relax when driving, don't spend so much time thinking about breaking records. Just relax and drive. Some of the fastest times I ever did oddly enough I wasn't even thinking about what I was doing. I just did it, yet if I start thinking about it, I mess up.

i agree, just relax,
or even fall a sleep. when u wake up,
