F1 2010 FFB is a much smoother gradual feel and there is no FFB dead zone in the middle like in LFS, overall the FFB is LFS feels either dead or full on plus the wheel at speed does not center itself but goes continually side to side on its own if steer slightly and let go.
I've driven vans, boats, cars, motorbikes and 125cc go karts round a track, I know nothing about physics engines but I do know a lot of the LFS cars are way out, some are ok, but none of them feel real, the XR GT handles worse than a transit van I kid you not.
@ganders, I have S2, don't you remember being part of the witch hunt sniping team that banned my old forum account for remarks made by someone else, do you go around looking for people to put down so often that you've already forgot?
I would like to see someone using a 100% force on a DFGT for 20 laps, thats would be interesting.
Its the sudden shock that can shear the plastic cogs on the DFGT, it has a very powerful motor and after time it will happen when playing games that have not properly regulated the power for the wheel feedback.
@beano, thats the setup I have, it does take the edge off but its still a problem.
Thats what I have to do in online races but losing the feedback makes me slower in the race because of over compensation when turning.
In F1 2010 there is 3 feedback sliders, one is called environmental effects and if you set it to 0 there is no god almighty rattle when you hit something but you retain the feedback.
With collisions being a major part of online play because a lot of people seem to think this game is demolition derby time you would think there would be an option like in F1 2010.
I got it set up in the wingman profile the way thats recommended and only use 20% force but collisions are gonna tear the teeth off the cogs before too long and it makes a terrific row.
Its pretty good, but the default config wouldn't boot and the config file had no comments for help with the settings, not good for beginners, lucky for me I've set loads up before on other games.
Disabled /insim and /admin so the server can't be influenced and thus fair and is probably the only one deliberately set up that way, I have no need to waste my life making up rules and then enforcing them.
There is no need for banning either, if you treat people with respect and give them freedom they mostly return the favor by populating your server, trying to force people into following stupid rules and cheating them will result in resentful behavior which will create lamers, and lamers love to get a kick out of breaking rules.
Panicbreakings replay looks like a bot driver, I wonder if he modded the race line and faked it.
Well I know one thing his setup wont go much faster than 1:18 and thats if the backend stays in place for a whole lap, god knows why its more stable and faster with no wing, I'll uninstall this headache of a game and wait for F1 2011.
Errr, because this tread is for FBM setups and not for lorries?
Seriously though is the latest version slower becasue of updated physics, taking all the wing off should not make top of the range setups faster and more stable.
Checked pedal calibration in case brake was dragging, set game to 100fps so there is more control input, none of it makes any difference.
Tried default setup with no wing and slick r1 tyres and get 1:18
I've tried loads of good setups and only go the same speed as default, 1:21
But when I set the front and back wing to lowest on a good setup I can get 1:16 which is recorded on the [MRC] server, also the rear end is more stable with no downforce, it must be the way I drive.
I watched Panicbrakings record 1:12 replay for help, but he can go over bumps like its normal tarmac, I do that and bounce all over the place, I even tried his setup but for me was slower than default.
Maybe I missed some control setup detail, I've looked and looked but can't find anything.
Using a DFGT wheel, 180 rotation, auto gears and braking help, tried using all manual but even slower.
Will running the game at 100fps help with control?
